As an installer of these pumps I would always advise spending the extra money and buy the models with brass impellers at each side as these models are much sturdier and are a lot quieter than the plastic impeller models , also it is very important to flush any newly soldered pipe work that is feeding the pump before you connect it up , once you have connected it to the pipes you must undo the outlet pipe and purge any trapped air otherwise the pump will be extremely noisy and will overheat and breakdown.......if you follow this procedure you will have a trouble free installation ....

yensabi That’s excellent advice! Thanks for taking the time to comment. A careful installation will not only help to prevent instant issues but prolong the life of the pump.

I had one fitted by a plumber and the noise had been horrific, I'm an engineer myself and it sounded like air/cavitation but was told that these were normal to have noise of this level. 6 months later the pump has packed up and the installer didn't advise on how i should have registered the warranty - I'm probably going to replace the unit myself but would appreciate a tutorial to show any tips on purging the air from the pump.

Hi Thanks for the video, I was wondering if I can fit this to a aditional bathroom to increase the pressure. I already have a combi but pressure drops when two showers are in use. Please let me know. Many thanks.

Hi there, nice video about the pump. Looks like a good pump. I am having trouble with one though. Can never get a hot shower. Only warm. Seems like the cold is overriding the hot. The bath/shower tap assembly has individual taps for hot and cold which mixes and comes out from the same tap outlet. What would you suggest to check or do? Also if I turn on the hot only on it doesnt activate the pump. Maybe its to do with the feature you mention about safety. The pump is also connected to the bathroom sink. Is this normal? Thanks

Hi... I have fitted one of these pumps, it's very easy to fit and has increased the pressure. since fitting, the shower does not mix the hot & cold correctly, I have found that my cold water storage tank is 11 gallons as opposed to the required 50! so I suspect this is the problem... however, my question is.. would the shower still mix the water correctly until the point where it does not have enough cold water supply? because when first turning the shower on it does not mix the water correctly! any help would be much appreciated... I don't want to pay for and fit a larger tank only to find that it still doesent mix... (the shower will mix the water fine when used without the pump)
@newcityheating19927 жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew Thanks for the comments, they are very good pumps. Yes, you are quite correct in assuming that 11 gallons is not enough to feed the pump for long, however, if everything was ok with pipework etc, then you ought to get a problem only when the supply runs out not before. These pumps all have a flow switch on the cold supply so that if that fails then you can't get scolded with just unmixed hot water. For that reason I'd expect the pump to cut out rather than not allow the valve thermostat to mix correctly. I don't know what brand or type of mixer valve you have there but its worth checking that the hot & cold supplies have'nt been reversed, that can have an effect on temp control. Can you give us a little more info? Thanks

I would like to see a video on the installation of these type of pumps to see exactly how simple people say it is to install.....do you think you will be coming out with anything remotely Luke this because I cannot find one on KZbin? Thanks

Star Stream Yes I'm sure we could do an installation overview, we'll rig up a model and do something fairly soon. Thanks for the comment.

@@newcityheating1992 did this ever happen?

James A Hi James Sadly it didn’t happen. After looking at the other installation videos online we didn’t think we could offer anything that hadn’t already been covered. We may still do one in the near future, keep checking in on us!

I wish these pumps were available here in Canada. Sadly, the 15mm and 22mm outputs equate to 5/8" and 7/8" here. Our standard fittings are 1/2", 3/4", and 1". I won't trust a Gundfos and the Esybox mini is way too expensive. Hmph.

Hi there can you tell me how to fits that pump Or can you tell me which side of the pipe will connect to main water and which side of the pipe connects to taps Thanks you so much
@newcityheating19927 жыл бұрын
Hi Roman Firstly we must apologise for not responding to your question, we missed it, so sorry! This pump is for tank or stored water and must never be connected to a mains water supply, it will damage the pump and void the warranty. What supply are you trying to pump?
@Andrejs20101 Жыл бұрын
the pump is excellent but after a year the pressure on the hot water was gone. the cold line creates pressure and the hot line does not work and goes by gravity

Hi. I just had one of these pumps installed. It is in the hot press on the first floor of a two storey house. The model is the CT79 XTRA. Everywhere on the web you hear about how quiet these pumps are. The noise from the mine (brand new btw) is horrendous. Is this normal? I know no pump is silent but this one would awaken everyone asleep on the first floor. Is this normal? Perhaps I have a faulty pump? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks Tom
@newcityheating19928 жыл бұрын
+Tom Garland Hi Tom, yes I think maybe there is a problem, it should run fairly quietly, discernible but not intrusive in any way. Did you install the pump yourself or have an engineer do it? Salamander will replace the pump under warranty if it is faulty, it would be worth a call to their tech department. Hope you get it sorted!

Hi. Thanks for the response. My plumber installed it. I have a service call in with salamander. hopefully it is a fault! the model is a CT79 xtra. Many thanks!

I had one of these installed only one year ago but it has started to be temperamental. It takes about 3-10 minutes of running the shower for the pump to kick in. Any idea why this might be?

i am in the same boat. one thing i tried that you might try also is to clean the filters - there are two - one in each input. it’s easy to do yourself. there is a youtube video showing you how to do it, so it’s just a search away....
@whitefields55955 жыл бұрын
I do not believe there is a priority for the cold water supply. There is a float switch in each line and either will trigger the pump if the flow is > 1 ltr in 30 secs
@newcityheating19925 жыл бұрын
whitefields5595 hi there! Thanks for the interest & taking the time to comment. We mentioned the cold water supply for safety but yes you are right, there is a switch on both hot & cold.
