I really love that yall spoke on the heartache of loosing an immediate family member while incarcerated because I relate so much to that and I don't think others who have never been to prison could really fathom it. I lost my grandma while in prison, denied ferlow, and that is who raised me.. it broke my heart, I think I about lost my sanity.

As a Officer with the BOP, we do in fact take an oath after Graduation from the academy. It doesn't state we can't talk or be friends etc with inmates, it talks about upholding the values of corrections.

I was a guard for 2 yrs in Indiana, after about a month I meet with the “shot callers” in my dorm. Told them look make my time easy I’ll make your time easy. 3 rules I wanted enforced while I was on duty. No F@@king, No Stealing, No Fighting, other then that I didn’t care about all the other BS.. It worked out great, left for better paying job..
