As someone in recovery I'd like to say...please share your story! When it comes to addiction people need to speak out. So many addicts feel so alone and ashamed. You could potentially reach thousands of people. Yours might be the story that inspires some of them to turn their life around! I know it's not easy to talk about the uglier parts of our pasts but I sincerely hope you find the courage to do so. The impact could be bigger than you ever imagined! Congratulations on your continued sobriety! Recovery is possible!!! PS- what is the name of your channel? I would love to subscribe!

@@josephsmith3908 You are 100% correct! They saved my damn life! There’s not a doubt in my mind that I would have died if they hadn’t intervened! I’m grateful everyday for them. It was horrifying back then but I’m beyond appreciative now! That’s why I make addiction videos in addiction to my other videos. I had no idea that I had resources back then. I thought I had just destroyed my life and had no choice but to keep going. I had no idea about AA or NA or Suboxone or any of those things. I want people to know that they have options. I was too ashamed to ask for help. I don’t want people to be ashamed. That’s why I make the videos I do. I’m hoping that someone who is struggling will see them and know they don’t have to keep doing what they’re doing. I was talking to my dad the other day and I told him that the drugs had my mind so warped that I thought I could never tell my parents I needed help! When in reality, they already KNEW I needed help and would have done anything in the world for me if I would have just went to them and been honest and asked. But when you’re in that addiction, you think you have everyone fooled! So you push everyone away and say “I’m fine!” I’m hoping beyond hope that people see my videos and take a chance on asking for help. Too many people are dying in silence! I’m so sorry for my long reply! 🤦🏼‍♀️ All I really wanted to say was yes! They rescued my ass just in time! And I wish I could thank each and every one of them.

I remember watching the documentary on isolation on rikers island years ago. Forget the exact name but it was called "last days of isolation" or something like that. It was very disturbing, most of the guy's went into their time in the hole sounding tough and level headed and were screaming like animals, cutting their ball sacks open, flooding, etc within 90 or 120days. I cant imagine 3 years in a box alone without sunlight or a phone call. It's legit torture.

You talked about the guards laughing at the incident you explained in regards to the guard who said that he was dying. I was never in a Prison but I was in county jail 5 times over and this brought back two memories. The guards stationed in my pod (housing unit called H-Block) laughed when an inmate fell from the top bunk and busted his head open (floor was concrete obviously and the inmate died when his head hit the floor) that pissed me off and every other inmate there, all of us were put in solitary for a month. Another time an inmate fell in the shower (this inmate was mentally disabled by the way) the guards laughed about that and joked around (the inmate died). Really infuriates me to hear that it happens in Prisons too, even when it's a guard and not another inmate. Really f--ked up.

This video was TREMENDOUS! I love the way you relate your prison experiences to your audience is so natural and flows so well - honestly I've watched thru your Gangster Redemption playlist a couple of times because the fucking terror and anger and shame and just feeling it all at once while you're naked, four pointed and pissed and spit on by corrections officers just chills me to the bone. I've suffered thru molestation where I was drugged and molested as a teen and the feeling that came over me was the feeling from those experiences in my life when I heard you tell what those guards did. Thank you so much for being as brave as you are to talk about your experience and try to help others. You are the real deal, Larry. Thanks so much, man.

I did time in the hole in Texas as a juvenile in the juvenile system in the mid 90s. I’m not sure how it is now. But as that time it sucked. You are exactly right about trying not to loose your mind. I would count the blocks that made up the walls in my cell over and over. And workout to tire my self out so I could sleep. But man I don’t know if you felt this way but for me the hardest part was when they let me back into population. People weirded me out. I didn’t know how to act or carry my self. I felt out of place. It was hard to hold a conversation with people. It took a long time to feel normal. That’s what I remember most. And as a teen I’m sure it affected my entire life maybe it’s why I feel comfortable as a long haul truck driver today. Anyway good info I enjoy you videos stay safe

Good for you Larry. My 27 year old son died in jail 7 years ago. The guards do nothing to help. They left him alone to die for 45-minutes. They don’t give a fuck is right. Thank you for sharing your experiences. God bless you!!!
