Just picked my Rally Explorer up after having the update completed, I love it! It is a welcome feature for a 32” inseam. 😂. I was always putting the bike in off road mode, which lowers it also for better off road control. I would use it around towns or traffic with frequent stops. I have 7500 miles on mine and the height was my only complaint with this bike. Now it is perfect.

Just picked up my bike yesterday... love it! But they missed this update (let them know as the salesman was showing me around the bike, even pulled up this video to show him how its supposed to work lol). As it was getting late and I had already been there half the day, we agreed to just do it on my 600 mile service. It will of course be free and they said that it's not something they would charge for anyway, as far as their time. Get to go out and install my accessories now :).

Hi, found this video, as a result of the good video and audio footage’ I’ve got to ask how you managed to get the really good audio? Had to forward & rewind and look again, couldn’t see an audio adapter 😮 Did you do the audio on a recorder? I only ask as I’ve tried all sorts of methods on the audio side but haven’t achieved your good audio! I’ve currently got a tiger 900, previously a T120 Black and many bikes of various before that! I’m not that into the vlogging side of things, but like recording bike journeys, (Got a you tube channel, probably not to everyone’s taste). So, what is your secret? Regards, Mick (over 60!)

Been enjoying your vids, and happy for this feature. I am about pull the trigger on a 1200 Rally and with my 32-ish inseam this will be a welcome addition. Love those small country roads. Very reminiscent of the roads and countryside where I used to live in "østjylland" in Denmark (between Århus and Randers). I have a world of great riding at my finger tips here in Southern Calif, but I miss it there often!

Thank you! Not going to be easy parting with my 18' T120 after all we've been through over the last five years, but I am mostly going to be doing longer milage trips (also part of the reason for the switch to a Tiger), so can't justify keeping and maintaining two bikes for the amount I would be riding it (and I don't even have a better half nudging me to do it lol. Guess I'm getting more sensible in my old age 😅).
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff Жыл бұрын
You could do this on the old Tiger 1200 by creating the custom rider mode with an off road (lower) preload. When leaving town you could then change rider modes on the fly and it comes back up. (XCa & XRt)

Good review again. Its a pity more manufacturers don't have this suspension lowering option. Only harley and I think the new bmw gs1300 has it. I'm 5ft 10 with 29 inch inseam and struggle with these types of bikes, might not be as bad when I get my new hip. I'm on my second versys1000 and I've lowered the suspension. It's still a little high but manageable, don't want to lower the seat because then my knees are too bent to be comfy. I love the versys, I don't go off road so this function would make it a perfect bike for me, its the cost of buying the triumph that puts me off buying one though. The 900 low version of the triumph might be and option but I don't want to part with my versys. It's a brilliant idea though as I'd say a very large majority of people don't take these types of bikes off road so dont need the clearance but it's the style and comfort that make them excellent bikes for any sort of distance work.
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Peter, yes I agree I think all bikes that have the ability these days should have it. It really helps through towns stop and starting at lights and also while touring at toll booths etc. I’ve no real want to take it off road really and just love that it’s the most comfy for long journeys. Thanks for tuning in 🙏👍

Hi. Great video. Does it stay low if you switch off the bike? Like if you manoeuver the bike in your garage in the evening, does it stay down for getting out if the garage the next morning or I have to push the button again? Thx.
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙏 so no it raises so you have to have it switched on. I turn it on and lower to get out of the garage and by the time I get out the town 30mph zone to 51mph it raises
@mikecaputo1611 ай бұрын
hey, thanks for this, but is there a way to keep the front suspension fairly stiff while keeping the rear as low as possible? My '23 1200 RE tends to nosedive when braking, presumably because I have the settings set to "comfort" to keep her as low as possible.
@MOTOUK111 ай бұрын
It’s shouldn’t make any difference re height adjustment as it raises anyway at 51mph. Just set the suspension to not firm in the menu. I have mine half ways and like that for general riding but if I am feeling sporty I raise it to stiffen up but I do keep the throttle map always on rain as smoother response
@zteacherr5992 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I noted you said that the suspension auto raises after 54mph. Does it have a auto lowering feature or does that have to be initiated manually?
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
👋 hi, so it’s actually 51 mph it raises, and yes to lower you need to press the home button for 1 second. I have gotten used to this very easy now and when I enter a town or arrive home I lower it so that I can flat foot when I town and keep stopping or just so I can easily move at home on the driveway. Before I jump on at home I lower it, and by the time I reach 60 signs out of town it just raises at 51mph. Great feature. I believe the new BMW R 1300 GS has this new feature but it’s an extra cost so happy it’s included on the triumph. Although I believe the new BMW lowers or has a setting that auto lowers say at a certain speed. This would be useful and I’m sure TRIUMP could do this in a future firmware update would be nice to have.

There is obviously a problem if manufacturers are designing 'work arounds' to accommodate normal size riders. Are motorcycles getting too big to be useful?
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think they are workarounds for shorter riders. Most adventure bike seat heights are high, mainly because long travel suspension. I would also say the tiger rally models are more biased to off road riding so need to have larger ground clearances.
@paullee6663 Жыл бұрын
It's a great feature for sure, but if you are normallly on 'tip toes' I'm pretty sure 20mm is not going to make things accessible to us guys with 28" inside legs 😁 Also, with the suspension lowered the 'ride' looks something akin to a Harley Hardtail 🤣 I'm kind of wondering who thought 54mph was the 'readjust' speed? 🤔 I really must visit the Vale of Bowland having seen your videos, however, you reallly should have done your video on an Asda car park so we could see both your feet with the suspension highered and lowered.
