We done the Aira Force waterfalls last week, free bike parking and the nice folk in the national trust shop kept our crash helmets whilst we walked the slight incline to the first viewing platform for the falls, about 20 minute walk, you can go higher to the bridge which is excellent. Also the national trust tea rooms in the car park are a welcome visit for cake and tea, worth a look Nick.

I did all 5 main Lake District passes in one day a few years back, it's a good one day challenge, Whinlatter Pass probably the hardest to integrate into the route, the order I did was Kirkstone, Honister, Whinlatter, Hardknott and Wrynose. Great ride

it's probably my favourite pass this one, wonder what they are actually doing to the Kirkstone Pass Inn, hope it's not being "plasticated" by removing the lovely beams and open fireplace, was about to comment on the new Pooley Bridge being very narrow, but on review see the traffic lights, nice little village, we have been promised an Indian Summer begining of October so I do hope so.

I was there this summer with a Scrambler 1200. The weather was very mixed, but I absolutely fell in love with this place, I'm getting my new Rally Explorer in a few days and I could leave right away. Maybe I will... An incredibly beautiful country.

Very bad wind noise but the views are definitely compensating loads for that! 😂😂😂 Great video mate. Dream place to ride… the rest of the video after the hiccup in the beginning was spot on. Sounded like studio👍👍👍 Absolutely worth the watch time all places in the world have a nice spot you can ride out to no doubt. This was one of them cheers from balmy Arizona 🫡🇺🇸🌵

Wind noise isn’t that bad! And what hiccup ?
@tartanblackcountrytourist Жыл бұрын
I love a bit of engine noise and the wind noise is a hard balance to find I call it the pillion effect. Makes the vlog more personal :)🤓🤓@@MOTOUK1

@@MOTOUK1 in the start of the video where you had to stop at that red light before going down that was the hiccup with the wind noise you even said it that it was windy. Loved the video and if you keep riding around the nice rides in the UK I’m thinking of subbing as well

Thanks for the video, Nick. I am a bit late to the party! However, I have just ordered a 1200 Rally, and was a little concerned about the height. I am coming off a 900 GT, really put my mind at rest, as I am a similar size to you.

Love the content. I'm curious about the fault you had that was corrected. I'm getting a rear position light fault when my brakes are applied while the fans are running. This came with an update I got in July. I got the suspension lowering update last month, but it did not contain a fix for it. Thanks, Nick!

Hi Kevin, yes that was the fault I had. Since having the latest update it cured everything. Maybe contact your dealer explain you have that fault

Afternoon Nick. I was up there on my Classic 350, in glorious sunshine last week, plenty of “BlackBerry Pickers” about, dawdling in the middle of the road, stopping on bends etc, the usual 😅. I think that your “Riding the Lake District Passes” series will be ridden a lot quicker than mine have been 😂😂😂
@tompayton848 ай бұрын
Hi Nick, will you be continuing with this series once the weather gets better? Obviously you don’t want to risk the ice encounter again. Would be great to see you do a POV of the whinlatter pass and new lands pass and honnister.

Every video i see from the UK it seems that the Asphalt plant has been shut down!!! The state of the road surfaces are terrible. Heck i live in Alberta Canada and we get 5 months of winter, Snow, Ice and down to minus 40c and our roads are in way better shape. Still waiting for my Bonneville T120 to be fixed. Something to do with the Engine temp sensor unit. So if anyone else on here has their Bonneville T120 randomly revving the engine on its own, with a high temp warning light and then backfiring and stalling at stop light. I guess it is something to do with an engine temp sender unit trying to control the electronic throttle on the bike. 2 weeks now with no T120 in the garage and fall is in full bloom when you get those golden leaf and Bike photos!!!! Still waiting on parts from Triumph.....

Very excited for this series! Thanks to your videos, I ended up pulling the trigger on a T120 black, now just deciding what luggage system to go with. Any recommendations on hard vs soft? How have you found locking the legend panniers to the bike?
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Nicholas 🤚 So firstly congrats on your new Bonneville. On luggage, i don’t tour much on the bonneville tbh. That’s why i bought the Tiger for really. However the trips i have done on the Bonneville so far using the SW-Motech Legend panniers and racks i absolutely love them. They have waterproof liners so nothing gets wet inside, and i find they really suit the bike. They quick release on the backs of the bags i think is excellent and on to the locking. So i use Sw-Motech locks sw-motech.com/en/products/luggage/tank+bags/accessories/4052572027691.htm These loop through the loops on the bag and just lock onto the pannier rails, i feel its enough for what i need. On the front i use these combination locks just type this into amazon ZHEGE Suitcase Locks TSA Approved, Cable Travel Lock, 3 Digit Combination Zipper Locks for Suitcases, Baggage, Backpacks, Briefcases, Small Locker Lock for Gym, School (Black, 2 Pack) If your touring lots and prefer hard bags, i don’t have a recommendation as only use the soft on the Bonneville. On my Tiger i use hard ones from Givi

My software update was done as part of my service. I would expect that the dealership is pretty much obligated to give you the latest software when you take it in. There are often safety issue that are corrected by the updates. My dealership tells me that they often have no idea what is in the updates so that is even more reason for them to do it for you as part of the service. I also had a software upgrade earlier in the year when I was getting the stalling issues. So the bottom line is that you are not only getting the update for the one thing. There will always be a whole heap of changes in a firmware update. Don't think of it as being free. You did pay a while heap of money for the bike. I expect it just a much as I expect upgrades to my laptop or phone when they are available. I'd change my dealership if they refused to give me an update for 'free' quite honestly.
@MOTOUK1 Жыл бұрын
Yes i agree if your having a service as they will normally check and update firmware, i think this is common practice now
