This game is actually based on The Stockton Arsonist which were a series of 3 fires in California in 1989 that were set to multiple homes, a man found a vhs tape under a coat on the side of the road when his car broke down and watched the tape when he got home. The tape revealed that it was a teenage lunatic who was recording the fires at the time, he was saying some very strange and disturbing stuff while recording, and was believed that this teen was the one who caused the fires. I definitely recommend watching the actual tape if you wanna feel a little spooked. Edit 6/6/21 Also holy crap 1.3k likes! Thanks!

It'd take a real A-hole to tell you to shut up over something so nice. I've been a sub for less than two months, I think, and I've been working my way through older content as well. John's videos kept being recommended to me so finally I decided to give one a go and I was pleasantly surprised. John's demeanor and level of intelligence (i.e. he doesn't scream and overreact like a child, and he actually understands how games "work" so to speak) struck such a chord with me that I subbed after that very first viewing.

Yes but I noticed that a lot of it was very oof. For example the last scene was all bugged out for John I wat hed another vid of this made by 8Bit Bryan and it looked a lot better. Still just a walking sim but it atleast wasn't as bugged as Johns was

Fire Soldier Yeah I agree tho it was more creepy for Ryan, and yeah due to the bug John didn’t get it but if you look at it and it doesn’t bug out it’s obvious that you are the killer and you burn down a house after killing people. Someone else in the comments explained on what this was based off, I think they could work on it a bit and it would be great. But if it doesn’t bug and you are into it then it’s pretty good and interesting experience.

1 year later but this game HEAVILY focuses on atmosphere and tension. That immersion is essentially deflated when you add commentary to it. I played it for myself before I seen the play throughs, and it’s one hell of an experience.

Not a very good experience, I would be pissed if I had played it myself. It tried to be September 1999, but the pacing is not very good for that style of game. The more recent Puppet Combo games have been pretty mediocre compared to the first ones, but maybe they're just experimenting. Boring game, but John manages to entertain us, as usual

I might be wrong but at 19:29 that actually might be a legit snippet of an elderly woman being murdered? I heard it in another game John played and he was pretty disappointed that they used an actual 911 call of a woman being killed. I forgot her name but I believe it’s actually used in some 911 operator training things to show an example to always ask for the address first. Deffo one of the more boring Puppet Combo games, compared to all their other works. Like, it's good - perhaps not up to Puppet Combo's norm standard, but everybody has to try their hand at different things so they can perfect the Ultimate Game(tm) when they finally make it. I love the narrative John was doin' tho. Also. Uploading once a week? Fine with most of us, and it helps avoid a perma burnout. Or, if that feels too little, do twice a week! We'll survive, I promise!
