Funny to trash the new President of Georgia because he used to be a football player and had "very little political experience" as reporter later admitted got into politics in 2016. Ok sure but no one questions Salome's qualifications about being the President because she is a born and raised French citizen, has an extensive career in French politics since the 1970s, served as French Ambassador to Georgia and just only arrived in Georgia in the mid 2000s. Nothing to see here, I guess.

Salome is well-educated and before being elected as President, she had years of experience in both Georgian and international politics. She was directly elected by the Georgian people. What does Georgia have to do with the European Union? The borders are theirs, but it's a finger in the eye of the Russians, so that's good by European standards. If Europe hated Russia a little less, maybe we would find a common language. Rich European countries are rich because they robbed 2/3 of humanity, it always bothers them that Russia is richer than them in every way.

I mean an actor can possibly use their acting skills during negotiations. Not saying it's a huge advantage but I'd assume that statistically actors are more intelligent that football players, simply because either profession self-selects for different traits.

100% I personally want to join EU, but terms should be more specific, and I need assurances that EU will keep it’s promise, otherwise it just a game for EU and Georgia will not involve in this game!
@spiraboy2 күн бұрын
@@giorgijapiashvili7442 i don’t think the ratio is like that. There are more people who understand and recognise the realities. EU has proven itself to be anti Russian now, so the Russians will never allow your accession there and it will absolutely certainly lead to a war which will destroy Georgia as a country and as a nation. Completely and beyond repair and any hope for the future. Had EU not been hostile to Russia, Russia would allow it. Now we can dislike this reality, but it does not make it less real.

Dw constantly cheerleading for eu makes them the furthest thing from an impartial news source (which makes sense I guess since German gov funds it). The Georgian election does sound like it was problematic, but that just illustrates why these countries in that part of the world have not been stable democracies for long enough. It’s for Georgia to sort out, if enough citizens truly care they will fight the direction of the country and if not then they’re happy to be in Russian orbit or whatever they choose - point is, Georgian issue to sort out.
