Great battlerep! Friendly reminder for Sylvaneths last turn: you can score Harness the Spirit Paths when you charge then use strike and fade, because SaF is part of "From the Woodland Depths" trait. Now kurnoths with swords might be better with new coherency rules and Hoarfrost spell, high roll - bonus rend, low roll - better wound hits, also they 220 for 3 now (i know this BR was before point changes etc.).

Great report! Just a little reminder: You cannot use bodyguard ability from Preators while in reserve, as it is an ability and has to be used while they are on the board.

I saw sylvaneth and knew i would enjoy this batrep. But then i saw Alarielle and Karazai and i was all in. Cant wait to see what you guys bring to the table with all the new rules changes and point drops. Hearing your wrapup and assessment of different units i couldnt help but realize how in the dark we all were just 1 week ago.

Michael is working on new ideas and new ways to play sylvaneth. He is thinking about leaning into this play style and moving away from the spiteswarm. As we play more games and understand the GHB better we will see what kind of power the Sylvaneth can bring.

@@BattleshockWargaming I've had the same thought about the hive. It looks like it will be even harder to stick these days. I've been leaning towards the warsinger trait and a unit of 6 swords moving 8". Maybe a branchwych tagging along with hoarfrost or blizzard.

The Stormcast Eternals finally got a much-needed points reduction on a lot of units. I'm really excited to see where they go from here. I'm even happy that the Kharadron Overlords got a points increase on a lot of stuff. The 160-point Thunderers are now a fair unit. I was hoping for 150, but whatever. :P I really can't pick which faction I'm cheering for here because both of them are strong and compelling concepts for a second army collection, if and when I ever get there. Yay, a channel that understands that both players get a Primal Dice on a 4+. A lot of others have been doing it wrong and it pains me to watch. Congratulations, Sylvaneth, on a battle well-fought. How do the SCE feel after their points drop, gentlemen?

Praetors must start the game on the board for their ability to work. AOS rules that units cannot use abilities while in reserve unless they say so otherwise. The praetor's ability happens at the start of the first battle round but since they are in reserve during that time it doesn't trigger.

13:26 does the metamorphosis, cast count as a primal cast?? It would have ended casting, but you each get one primal die.

I would have had to use a primal dice and then got 2 sixes for it to count as a primal cast. Natural Sixes wont end casting

Great game guys. Love to see Alarielle pulling it off. And also Karazai has shined. Regarding the bugs I really think they were misplayed by the player… having a 12” movement unit that heals, hits rather good and resurrects models should have been used much more actively (grabbing objectives, charging in, getting board control, etc.). But overall great game and real fun to see. Keep it up guys

Not sure, but I don't think you can bind the Praetors to Karazai if they are put in reserve at the start of the game. Great report, really enjoy your channel! 😊

The warscroll states you must pick a unit on the battlefield, does not state the Praetors cannot be in reserve. During this game, the AOS faq was unavailable d/t 40k updates, so we were not able to check if units can use warscroll abilities while in reserve. We will research and clarify this before we use them in this way again. Thanks for taking the time to comment and hope to see you in other battle reports!

Really good Game Guys. 🙂 Metamorphis primal dont add to the Roll but i think it didnt mattert. Really shy 1st rounds but i think you played it perfectly. The Bugs were doing nothing the whole Game 😅. Wouldve Liked to See alarielle to Go for a Duel vs the big Dragon, die and comming Back.

They recorded this before the battle scroll and FAQ. So at the time primal dice would have added to the roll. This sadly had to be changed or else the warsong would have destroyed almost every other army.

What was the reason you didn't do "A Matter of Honor" and try to kill Alarielle with Karazai? Was there a tactic that would've opened up? With the +1 attacks I think Karazai may have had a good chance to knock the Everqueen?

I breifly though on this, and just could not commit to Karazai pushing 16 damage. He had just dealt 13 damage to some dragonflies in the previous battle round, so I opted for the safe bet of scoring the central objective. This plan ultimately backfired when Michael redeployed the big 6 and denied my grand strategy. So next time, I plan to use the FULL SEND techinque lol.

I'd love to see a Sylvaneth army go up against some mega gargants. Can never get enough of the big boys and the Sylvaneth are always fun to watch bounce around the board

i thought Sylvaneth S&F only required that the unit had fought in combat and that the S&F triggers after models were removed from play that died cos it was an "If Any". if its in the new GHB ill have to have a look but my understanding was it just had to engage in combat.

There is not a requirement to kill models to strike and fade, There is a poorly worded FAQ but the intention is to clarify that models die and before you strike and fade. Im not sure how Sylvaneth would do against gargants. They might struggle to put enough damage through to topple the giants

Y'all know me. I see dragons and I root for dragons. Love em. I also think that Karazai with some praetors is a pretty scary thing. Alarielle is nasty too, but I'm thinking Karazai with the praetors will outdo her and the fulminators will outdo the Kurnoth hunters so I give SCE the dub here. Either way it will be a fun match!

It was drybrushed and then undercoated by drybrushing different colors on horns face and body, Then I used different Turbo dork color shifts through and airbrush to get some crazy effects!
