I really like your detailed review of Himalayan 450. I am a 5'4" guy and I sat on it, I didn't find any issues... Though I didn't get a chance to ride it. One more thing I would like to share with you is that I bought my interceptor 650 after watching your detailed review on it. Thanks buddy keep it up...

@@JustAnAtheist yes I did... But being an interceptor rider for the last 4 years it shouldn't be a big deal. The best part is the tank and saddle is very narrow at the beginning and the seat is angled towards the back.

@@joyroy7284 Interceptor isn't an offroader but Himalayan 452 is. If tiptoed, it's difficult to handle the Himalayan 452 in some situations as shown by bikewithgirl in her Himalayan 452 test ride.

One of the beautiful and pure reviews. Learnt more than the reviews from the Himalayas. Thank God they dint call you to the Himalayas (you would be singing the same song like all), this review is much more valuable and real. What a dignified presentation! In a world where everybody is jumping around to get views and likes, it’s so nice to hear “my colleagues have already spoken about it”. Amazing 👌🏻 I do have one question : you suggested waiting for the second batch - could you please clarify what that means? How do I know which batch is running currently? Also the price will go up after 31st Dec - isn’t it a loss to pay more for the same motorcycle?

Thanks for being dignified enough to understand and appreciate a dignified approach 🙏 I can see some lights coming on at random. It's better to get a sorted product at a slightly higher price than spending money and time for repairs. It's more of a gut feel I got after riding it all day long

Excellent review, nice coverage. I sat on the RE Himalayan at the UK Motorcycle Live show at the NEC, with the 825mm std seat and really liked the narrow leg stance. I’m 5’ 10” with a 30” leg (sorry, haven’t converted to metric with personal measurements yet, still hybrid). Well done RE, nailed it.

Let's hope no issues occur with this first generation but as it is already available on your home market it will get plenty of 'hands on ownership testing' to iron out before these aer transported to the uk. Waiting for the roaster with a much slimmer and lower profile with a 180 - 190 mm ground clearance, lower, straighter and more narrower handle bar, sharper rake angle, 17 inch rims both front and rear, 160/60 R17 rear and 120/70 R17 front tyre with alloys and an overall lighter bike in the 175 - 180 kg fully fuelled would be my optimal naked bike. 1. What might be price bump after introductory price period? 2. What might be the good option whether should I book the bike during the introductory price period which is actually before 21st dec with spoke tube wheels ? Or should I wait for the tubeless spoke wheel? i.if I buy in introductory price period itself then I can buy the tubeless spoke wheel at later point in time for additional let's say 20k. ii . If I buy the bike once the tubeless set is available then i will be buying after the introductory price period ends right? Which mean the base price will be hight again say 20k.. So , it doesn't matter when I buy then? 3.Also , if there any minor defects it will be most likely be fixed at next Iteration/ next generation not the next batch . if there are huge issues which causes product line pause then they will fix in 2nd batch or else no . right? I'm really confused , please correct me if i'm wrong

Simple, first batch you need to visit showroom if you have problems.. Last time RE came fixed at home. If 2nd batch they can tune and minimise problems at factory.. Fixing major problems of design only happenes in updated version which takes around 1.5-2 years. If you want introductory price take now. Any how after price increase by 15-20k likes of HD 440x you won't save much if you wanted to upgrade to tubeless spokes around 30k(expected). I am the first one to book in my showroom within 5 mins.. I will take delivery soon... My RE showroom is 5 mins away, so i can afford to sort of niggles..

I am the owner of ktm 390 adv spoked wheel variant. My suggestion to genuine buyers is wait for the alloy wheels tubeless Tyres. Just in last two days on my adv I have spent approximately 1700rs due to punctures in rear wheel. Even in the city I found it hard to get a mechanic to have it fixed. Disadvantage for my 390 ADV is you have to carry it to KTM service center and then take the wheel to other repair shop. I am going to buy new alloy wheels and that going to cost somewhere around 16-20k. So again to genuine buyer of New Himalayan, think twice and don’t do FOMO buying. @motoroids Akhil if you are reading this, bro find me a good deal on alloy wheels😢.

I'm not sure I agree with you on the low-end torque comparison with the Scrambler 400X. I rode that bike last week and loved the tractability of the engine. It pulls clean from as low as 35 kmph in 5th gear. Rode the Himalayan today and it threw tantrum picking any speed from 45 kmph in 5th. I have a 2016 BS3 Himalayan from the first lot and yet I came back disappointed after riding the 450. It is a big improvement over the old one in most areas but low end torque is not one of them.
@Ozsmallbore
@Ozsmallbore Жыл бұрын
Seriously, you can't have it all. Some reduction in low end torque is to be expected. But it will still have more than enough (and more than most e.g. KTM390) and the improvements everywhere else make it worthwhile. A small adjustment in riding style and there is no problem. I think sometimes people just look for things to complain about. if you can't live without that bit of extra torque right down the bottom end, then keep the old bike. But you then miss out on all the other improvements.
@motoroids
@motoroids Жыл бұрын
I was playing the experience of riding the 400 x constantly in my mind while riding this one. Felt better to me. I pulled 45 kays in 6th, 40 in 5th, 35 in 4th and 25 in 3rd. But more importantly, it's clutch, power delivery and torque felt a lot more suitable for off roading than the 400x . Elsewhere I have clearly mentioned that purely as a city bike, the 400X is slightly better

Will this be good for our CHENNAI city bumper-to-bumper traffic what is the least mileage we can expect for such conditions......considering the suspension comfort feature this could be a good buy compared to triumph scram provided we don't face any issues with maneuvering in city traffic ........I have already booked Triumph Scram and this I need your expertise on selecting among these two....

Personally I'd prefer the Himalayan. Chennai traffic can heat this thing up though. Scram has better heat management

Great video thank you. I like the bike except for that white colored one. Love the black one. Hopping they will start selling them hear on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Can you fit GVI racks on it for the GVI Trekker 33/64 liter hard bags. I use my bikes for shopping so need the carrying capacity. The Honda CB500 side bags were OK but the weight of the top box empty was max for the rear rack, had to get a lighter top box, not good. I am thinking between the Himalayan 450 and the KLR 650 low, Liking the Himalayan 450 but worried about carrying capacity. The KLR draw back is fuel efficiency. KLR has a large tank but not very good miles per gallon.

I agree with you that it's more sensible to wait for the 2nd batch. So, I would like your input on the below question. I waited and put plenty of thoughts to purchase Dominar 400, and now as himalayan 450 is here. Which bike makes more sense? Domi 400 or RE 450? (P.S. I need a all rounder bike that looks cool and head turner Dominar 400 was still my ideal choice , so please let me know your thoughts)

It's much better than the Dominar. Himalayan anyday
@px6497
@px6497 Жыл бұрын
Dominant is heavy as hell even when driving and they made an ad ki haathi mat paalo. The power delivery is linear and not like ktm which in Indian roads is a good thing. Maintenance cost of Himalayan 411 is lower than dominar. In fact in the himalayan there is hardly any maintenance cost when compared to other RE products. My roommate has an annual maintenance cost of 12000 for his thunderbird bs4 where as I have my Himalayan Bs3 costs around 6k annually and I ride a lot between 1500 to 1600kms per month. Dominar400 is no doubt a good bike but only Con is thst it's very heavy and gives a mileage of 25 if you ride it like a gentleman. I'll have to cross check with my friend who has dominar about the maintenance costs.
