Looks tasty Gareth; I've just been to Farmfoods and they've got an even smaller frozen chicken than the one you reviewed last month. It's £1-59 and weighs a kilo approx. Same brand, so great for a single saddo like me 😂😂👍😉

I have had their fish pie, which comes presented in the same way. That was delicious. Maybe £3.49 is a bit steep, I would give it a go. If I didn’t like it? well I just wouldn’t buy it again. But judging from from your reaction? I think I would 👍🏻. To clear up the ‘ pie ‘ question. A lot of people think a pie is made with pastry and shouldn’t be in a container. This is untrue. We have Cottage Pie, Fish Pie and Shepard’s Pie as a few examples. They usually have a mash topping, not pastry. They usually are more wet, which would make the pastry too soggy. Hence the container. So when plated the sauce spreads out a bit. You can get a chicken and ham pie in pastry but it doesn’t have a lot of sauce. A good review Gareth 👍🏻. People should remember, just because it’s Aldi or Lidl? doesn’t mean it has to be dirt cheap 🤔🥴🤔. Just cheaper than elsewhere.

hi just a note to say on the heat plates on top of your sage oven, I would put a tea towel on the top not covering the vents this will avoid scraping the top of your oven

A cottage pie or shepherd’s pie or fish pie is similar to this and they don’t have pastry - mind you, there are some foods that call themselves something that they should not be called! A better name would be chicken & bacon crumble - looks a bit like an apple crumble!

Hi Gareth from Spain. I think tha's been overcharged by at least a pound for what you got. I wasn't impressed, it was serously lacking in chicken. We had fresh pasta (Ravioli) in a Neapolitan sauce and it was delicious - it cost about a pound more than you paid and fed three of us very well.

When it comes to cleaning your grill/oven racks pop them in the bath with just enough hot water to cover. Add a couple of scoops of laundry detergent (biological is best) and maybe add a dishwasher tablet (ASDA Just Essentials WERE less than 50p for 30!). Leave it to 'marinade' overnight and the muck and nasties will almost just rinse off the next day. They'll come up just like new! (Just a pity I couldn't fit the whole oven in the bath! 🤣😂)

I'd have to get a load of sprouts in there, Pal....mmmmmm....sprouts. Tesco do a kilo of frozen button sprouts for £1•30. No waste and damn near a good as fresh...as long as you ignore the cooking instructions🤔👍

What is a pie will always divide ppl....traditional meat pies Vs cottage/shepherd's pies....guess it's down to the pastry or mash thing. Both are fine for me and not worth arguing over . I know you don't have a Sainsburys near you but my fav lazy meal atm is their ham and leek gratin(it's not cheap at £3.50 on offer) with a few green beans and a buttered roll to mop up the sauce...it's yummy though :P

There’s not much of anything there for £3.49! potato’s cost literally nothing and that’s mostly what you’re getting plus that bacon is probably just cooking bacon which is only around £2 per kg 😅

Only used it 3 times so far but loving it but not tested it on anything really messy. The reviews I read, most people said they both hard to clean. It's not cheap and given that there's twice as much potato in this than there is chicken and bacon combined, it ought to be called potato pie with chicken and bacon. There's relatively little protein in this and a whole load of fat and carbs.
