I'm really getting tired not having more old CPUs in the comparisons. It seems all of tech youtube know that gamers rarely upgrade nowadays and it would help out seeing how the older generations stack up against the new releases. For reference to their old system and the second hand market upgrades where you can stumble on deals. These types of videos provide marginal value in those cases.

I really like the fact that both Intel and AMD are almost both pretty much identical so in the end it comes down to the buyer to decide what kinda plattform he wants to adopt to. Looking at the gaming benchmarks, what stands out is the 5800X3D. 10% less fps, for way less power consumption and therefore heat, and way cheaper. What this tells me tho is that when AMD releases X3D versions of their 7000 series CPUs, they will crush 13th gen.

Nice simple honest advice. Looking forward to the AMD v cache variants. I think these are what most people looking to upgrade are waiting on. Add that to improving drivers and the , hopefully, multiple cpu generational support and lowering DDR5 RAM, it looks good for another 5 years. Just having to wait for the MoBo manufacturers to start dropping the prices to stay sensible.

I agree with most of your conclusion, but I have to note that ADL/RTL + DDR4 or + DDR5 are not the same thing performance wise. Sure stuff like Blender won't care, but many other productivity tasks and ESPECIALLY gaming will. Don't be shocked if your 13600K + DDR4 system appears to score much lower in some games than what you saw in reviews, those tested almost exclusively with expensive DDR5.

Aside fron your CSGO results, which are at odds with other reputable outlets (Source Engine seems to love Ryzen 7000), gaming, productivity and the insane thermals/power on the 13th gen are exactly what I expected and saw from early leaks. Nothing particularly special and the scary power creep Intel keeps pushing continues. Wish someone would do proper long-term load throttling testing on these, only HU glanced on that and it pretty nasty.

Correction to Intel node process, What Intel calls Intel 7 isn't a 7nm more but their 10nm node but rebranded. And also to be clear there is no standard for node measurements so there really is no point in comparing it to AMD since they use TSMC.

All that matters is density, and Intel's 7 is quite similar in density to TSMC 7nm, hence why Intel changed the name. It's bad marketing to call it 10nm when performs like 7nm.

No. It will perform identically! The integrated graphic is still inside the cpu but disabled cus it didn’t passed the test or have QA issues. It doesn’t affect the cpu simply bc they’re independent and isolated from the cpu cores
