@Dawn7374 ай бұрын
Okay, rewatching it, the video footage is being taken by the father after the confrontation, so it doesn't show what happened. Jet Blue claims the family ignored repeated requests, yelled at crew members, and then accused the crew member of having been drinking. They are probably being escorted off for noncompliance,even though they complied at the last minute in their attempt to avoid being escorted off the plane.
@j.m.9727 Жыл бұрын
There's more to the story than what he gave. He actually cursed at the flight attendant, and their response makes more sense knowing that. If a flight attendant comes over and asks you to move the cake from the top to the bottom, that's ten seconds max of interaction. There'd be no reason for them to even stick around long enough for you to break out your camera, for your children to start crying, and for the cops to arrive. The man tried to file a lawsuit against Jetblue and was unsuccessful.

That is why in case of impact, the fusilage must break into two first before the emergency doors could be opened nor the lifevest be inflated (water impact). Imagine, who would survive that tbh? Most airlines avoid survivors in an air crash because they'll be bombarded with lawsuit. I had a cousin who died in a plane crash. His body was never found but his wallet was. Something tells me it might have been because the dad yelled at the crew members, granted, I will never know for sure because I wasn't there, and neither of us were there, except for that family, and whoever was on that plane, but there are often things kept from the viewer's knowledge when it comes to the things that we did not see that were not recorded, and the small piece we DID see recorded....this is not a far fetched thought. But the crew members are human beings, just as the ones who are simply taveling on the flight, and every single one of us is capable of error, so when most of the story isn't shown, I don't really know what to take from it other than thinking about what else happened that wasn't recorded and wondering what it was before I can make any assumption or judgement.... There's things I see recorded that automatically make me upset and I say things about it, and I judge it, but at the end of the day, if the entire story is not recorded, what do we really know... Not an “unfair light”. An honest light. Some people can’t stand that. Truth is service industry employees engaged with the public can find that dealing with situations will leave them stressed and erodes their empathy and patience. When those stress levels reach a critical point they can lash out and act wrongly with the next people or situation. That is a sad reality and when it happens it is an honest light when shown. Being stressed and emotionally drained does not make it right. But it should make all of us consider all the little ways we can help frontline workers and not be the kind of people who blithely add stress and strain to those trying to do a decent job for others benefit.

People here who are OLD remember days when flying on an airplane was a great experience. You were treated like royalty, you got a REAL meal on real plates with real silverware, the attendants got you anything you wanted any time you wanted, you didn't pay for bringing luggage. Google what it was like to fly on an airplane in the 1970's and you will be blown away. Kids got little toys or pilot wings for free. What an amazing experience it was. Now, you get searched on the way in, gotta take off your shoes, you are wedged in like a sardine, there are often no meals, the stewardesses play only a nominal role, and of course there are all sorts of things that you can no longer bring on an airplane, or should not bring on due to the sad realities of modern life. That cake, for instance. We grant that bringing a cake onto an airplane is nothing that an experienced flyer would do, and they should have had the sense to not do it, we might take the moment to simply remember better times than these.

Poor kid, this little man just wanted to enjoy his birthday and then his family gets kicked off the plane like that. Truly unfair.
@melissamiller7222 жыл бұрын
Unfair light? Even when a passenger is being ''emotional'' the job of the crew is to de-escalate the situation, not make it worse, we have all traveled with the flight attendants that hate their job, they believe they have the authority to do whatever they want and take the opportunity to make the passenger suffer if they do not "comply"
@waynepond87482 жыл бұрын
So if there was an emergency and the cake was blocking emergency equipment and a time sensitive medical emergency got worse because the cake was blocking emergency equipment who would get blamed or sued the passenger or the airline. If an FAA inspector was onboard who would have gotten fined the flight crew and airline or the passenger. If the cake was moved to a correct location to begin with after the flight crew told them things would not have escalated to this point. The video makes it look like the family was asked to move the cake, the family complied but the crew still kicked them off the plane. That does not make sense. I admit I may be wrong but I strongly believe there was an argument before that cake was eventually moved. There is a reason why it is a FEDERAL REQUIREMENT to comply with crew member instructions. They go through extensive initial training and every year recurrent training to handle every foreseeable incident be it medical, safety, or security that can occur on a flight and be well knowledgeable of all the regulations that the FAA has put in place to ensure that flying is the safest mode of travelling. Some requests may not make sense to an untrained passenger and they may feel that that crew member hates his or her job or is overreacting.

1:20 I was actually on that American Airlines flight. What happened was a flight attendant tried to explain that she couldn't take it on board the plane because it wouldn't fit under her seat or in the overhead compartments. Before the attendant could tell her that she would get it back at the end of the flight, she started yelling, thinking that she was gonna lose thenstroller. As for the flight attendant almost hitting her, that was her fault- she tried to grab it as the attendant went to put it away. At that point, the crew called the police, who removed her and her child. To me, she seemed like a first-time, possibly single mother who was at her wit's end, as her child had a tantrum while we were waiting to board the plane, which was an hour late.
