Thanks Katie, interesting interview, I respect Mitt Romney especially after experiencing the Trump presidency. It is extremely poignant when I realize my personal views can be changed after hearing the honest feelings reflected at the end of a long political career. Good for Mitt!

I shook Romney's hand.....at my graduation from college. He is a good man......that has a morals.......rare and often deadly for a politically aimed person. Politics is cut-and-dry and Romney doesn't operate like that. He has a ton of money, good looking kids....and is happy with his life. Good looking man. He just got "done" with the game of politics. Leave him alone.

I saw Romney on a flight from LA to DC and I wanted so badly to just say hi to him but he was trying to stay away from everyone in the corner of the waiting area and I didn’t want to bother him. I just bought the book and I’m looking forward to reading it. I’m proud of him for standing up for what is right and against tfg. I just wish he had spoke up sooner and more often.

Great interview and such an insightful book. I read it this weekend and couldn’t put it down. Romney courageously did the right thing while watching others sell their soul. This book shines a light on how our democracy needs leaders with Romney’s moral courage.

Romney didn't do enough. He, like all establishment leaders, were too late to react to Trump's popularity. After all, his main competitor was Ted Cruz, a despicable character in his own party. Along about July, when it came to delegate counts, it was an inevitability it was going to be Trump.

Moral courage a quality needed by all-he was a good governor (we do vote Republican in Massachusetts, occasionally). The lack of backbone by the rest of the party to reject DJT is beyond understanding. Thank you for the great interview, looking forward to reading the book.

As you say, Romney was an isolated figure in Washington. How could it be otherwise....a Republican with morals, courage, integrity and honesty. How many of those are there?

Romney is a nice man. However, he is missing the stomach for Washington. He has major money he inherited his father's empire in Utah.

He inherited his father’s empire in utah? Elaborate please. I don’t believe his father had any sort of “empire” in Utah.

Democrat here. I have the utmost respect for Mitt. He calls them as he sees them, his candor is eye-opening. I've been thinking about getting A Reckoning however I am a bit leary. I noticed that he is VERY religeous where as I do not hold any belief in any denomination. I believe there should be a separation of church and state. Can you let me know if this book is directional to this degreee? I don't mind religion, not a big issue but I'd have to put the book down if it gets too heavy on religion. Thanks for your response.

Aloha “Democrat here”. I have read the book and have followed Mitt Romney for many years. The subject of religion is seldom mentioned. If so, mainly to disrespect his involvement with the LDS church. I’m a moderate but lean left on many issues and I would vote for Mitt in a second. He brings moral clarity to the job which is something that is sorely lacking with DT and too many politicians. Read the book…I think that you will love it!

I liked Mitt Romney but what I didn’t approve of was him supposedly being the main benefactor from the NRA to the tunes of millions. I suspected it wasn’t true at the time but it may be. Who knows.

It is a kind of interesting to compare Al Franken's book to Mitt Romneys. Apparently it is safe to say that Ted Cruz is smart but generally hated in the senate. I'm always kind of surprised that he is so admired for his intellect, as he doesn't come across as particularly cerebral, I guess that is simply the mask he wears to appeal to his base. That being said I don't think it takes a political animal to keep Texas as a incumbent republican senator.

Remember always think critically with politics. About a year before a presidential election Fair weather conservatives, Republican in name only, they often get used. MIT has to go to Cspan or maybe soft interview with Katie. This was a very disingenuous interview. MIT criticized Obama.when Obama started conducting survellence in Pakistan, MIT says "this is not how we treat our friends". He wouldn't of gotten OBL MIT FLIP FLOPS BEING MORMON DOESN'T MAKE YOU CONSERVATIVE. I AM A MORMON AND I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE
