Hey, I've been a tech for 21 years now, it happens to the best of us. I notice the only times I make that mistake is when someone's breathing down my neck watching over my shoulder, I lose focus and make mistakes, that's why I prefer to work alone, I have full focus

I think the flare test gauge is neat other than that i think I will stick to flaring by hand because its a single flare. Not double or bubble even. So im fine with a regular flare kit.

I can see this tool being handy when doing a 5 head mini-split with 20 flares needed and often in tight spaces on a ladder

Good vid ! I Believe mini splits are a different flare angle than Regular Flares. So , I’m guessing it makes only regular flares or is it ONLY FOR MINI SPLITS ?

Did you put some oil on the tubing? Does the tube stop swing out automatically?
@HVACShopTalk
@HVACShopTalk 3 жыл бұрын
No oil on tubing. The stop is moved by the flare I believe. I don’t remember if a manually slid it over.

@@NAVAC My question was about the swing out tube stop lever for positioning the depth of the tube. Does it swing out of the way as you insert the die into the slot? Or do you have to swing the stop out physically before actuating the tool.

I Wonder How the Motor sounds when it makes a 3/4” Flare ? It sounds ok making a 3/8 flare. How many flares will it make on a Full battery charge ? That’s a pretty small battery ! I Wish they would standardize thier battery’s. that’s 2 battery sizes now if u own the battery powered little vacuum pump. They should have made the tool utilizing the battery from the vacuum pump to make the battery standard size. 🤦‍♂️
@NAVAC
@NAVAC 3 жыл бұрын
A full charge makes over 100 flares, and the battery can be quickly charged back in 30 minutes. To your other question, the battery for NP4DLM cordless vacuum pump can be used on the NP2DLM. The flaring tool uses a different battery so it's lighter and handier.

@HVACRTECH-83
@HVACRTECH-83 3 жыл бұрын
You mentioned the instructions not being very good, I've also noticed that with different navac products. If you read the instructions for there gauge manifolds, it's all very wrong information that's going to get new apprentice and newer techs into so much trouble because it's wrong information or at least not enough information. Makes me not feel comfortable using their refrigeration tools honestly

I do a lot of mini splits. But the clamp won’t work I talked to the rep too he couldn’t figure out why they need to make a smaller clamp maybe it’s the copper but it’s on every mini split that I do on the Mirage mini splits.
