One possible resolution: your bios or something else may have been updating on its own if the computer looks like it is running properly, but the update might have just stalled or glitched. My new computer build wasn't booting into the graphics card, but my mom accidentally leaned on the power button too long, and when the computer booted back up it actually worked fine lol

OMG! It actually worked! I was upgrading my old GPU then got this "no display output" issue, though it POSTed and the motherboard LED's were good. I've tried everything I could think of with no luck. I've been troubleshooting for 2 days and was out of my wits. I've considered returning the new GPU. I can't believe I've missed something this simple and trivial. You were right. The metal bar was preventing the HDMI/DP cable from plugging in fully flush into the GPU card. Simply loosening the retaining screws and nudging the card gently so that the cable's connector could sit in fully flush. Tightened the screws again and turn it on, and voila! You can't believe how happy I was to see the BIOS splash screen and the Windows logo again. You're a lifesaver! Thank you very much!

Great video, I think basic fault finding technique should be taught at school. How many times have I been out to help people and found that no basis fault finding had been carried out and it a simple plugging in of a lead/cable solved the problem. great vid. I had more or less guessed the problem myself (after having changed every component in my first new build😞) but this vid really confirmed it. I am using a 3060 GPU and an older displayport monitor and getting failure to boot and/or crashes. I tried a low res HDMI tv and it worked fine. Ironically I can only boot with the HDMI, but if I then plug in the DP monitor it works fine. I am going to try to replace the DP cable, but I guess I really need to fork out for a new monitor. Many thanks Mike ;-) Ps, the upside is that I now have nearly enough components to build another PC, Duh.

None of this fixed my issue, but after a lot of time i may just have finally fixed it. The issue seems to have been the power supply air filter at the bottom of my case being clogged up with dust and somehow that may have been causing my power supply, that is at the bottom of my case and FAN FACE DOWN and had been intaking air through that dirty filter, to malfunction and cause the signal loss on the monitor. I just rolled over the power supply to fan face up to intake air from inside the case and havent had issues since. ALSO i remove the CMOS shorter from the cmos pins on the motherboard (The cmos shorter is a tiny tiny tool that is used on the cmos pins on the motherboard. Look online for more info)

Finally sorted my GPU problem...... It was the DP monitor. There seems to be a compatiblity issue between modern GPUs and older displays (and cables?). This could explain why you are seeing so many more problems recently, the tendency is to spend on a new build/upgrade with the best GPU you can afford and think that you will test it with your old monitor and then buy a 4K or 8K later. In my case this resulted in totally inconsistent behavior during boot, I must have booted the system 10 times, first boot worked, second slow, third not at all, 4th crash during BIOS, 5th crash during login, etc etc, finally nothing and the panic that you have done some permanent damage. Upgrading the GPU driver on the first sucessful boot always made things worse The only consistant thing was when the GPU (a rtx3060) was removed, the IGPU worked fine booting perfectly in 6 seconds, reinstalling the GPU caused a repeat of the above. I presume that if the UEFI (graphical) BIOS can not display properly It doesn't just boot with no image, but feeds back to the PC causing boot failure. Save your pennies and buy a decent monitor with your GPU (Ryzen 7600x, asus B650m, geforce rtx3060, delll P2210 DP/DVI monitor, for info)

Not sure if relevant, but someone might find it helpful. Acer monitors have sometimes trouble displaying picture when you enter BIOS or boot up your PC for the first time and show "no display" or "input not supported". It is a bit frustrating, but try different monitor or TV. More often than not, this is it. Boot up or instal OS and you can switch back to that monitor. Just take a mental note, that when you hit No display again in the future or need to access BIOS, this "switch of monitors" might be required again.
@vincecooper26728 ай бұрын
Another step is to clear the Bios Chip. look at the Motherboard Manual & read how to do that. Remove & replace the Motherboard Battery or you may need to find the CMOS Jumper & jump it 1st with the Battery in. I've read 2 different ways of clearing the Bios Chip. CNOS is only the internal structure of the Bios Chip. CMOS=Ceramic Metal Oxside Semiconductor

My issue was I got a new nvidia 3070 last week, and I installed it with no issue. And then today I put in my old nvidia 2070 again to test it, couldn't get any input from the old one, and I kept trying to reseat it, didn't work. Display also wasn't working on the internal CPU graphics on the motherboard, so I couldn't access the BIOS. Turns out, it still worked with my new 3070, so I did a fresh install of the correct drivers for my old 2070 and got rid of all the other drivers to make it clean. Then, when I put in the old card it worked properly. It's such a simple fix for my issue, but I felt dumb because I was exhausted and almost jumped to conclusions. thinking I messed something up and almost flashed my BIOS / thought I had bricked something.

I'm going crazy right now. I bought a used motherboard to support my old 8350. I've tried clearing cmos, tried swapping the battery. Tried one ram stick. Tried all four. Tried different PCI slots. I'll try this next but I'm not hopeful

Sometimes it can be motherboard capacitor problem mostly when pc is shutdown suddenly and not in natural way, then leaving it over night will usually work sometimes even for more days need to rest, that's my usual problem on my pc, it power on with black screen and vents are working continuously(they should stop eventually if pc is actually booted.

Doing anything with a PC is so extremely volatile. I took out my 2x 8gb RAM sticks, put them in again and boom no display or USB control. It basically forces you to go to a shop anytime you need to change parts or even clean it. Reset CMOS, tried a plethora of RAM reslotting but nothing.

CPU is properly installed and everything tried 2 different monitors and cables so what could it be? Have a guess? I’ve been using al this hardware all the time

I run dual monitors, 1 from the DVI port and the other from HDMI. MY HP runs off the HDMI and the power adapter went out. I bought a replacement from Amazon and when it arrived i plugged it in and the HP worked without a problem. Next day, the HP would power on, but no screen. Since the HP monitor is bigger I switched it over to the DVI port and still no screen. I unplugged all cables from the HP and turned it on, and I could see the HP logo and then it shows No signal since it was not connected to the pc. After a few minutes, it shows going to sleep mode and turns off. So the HP monitor does show screen when unplugged. The video card works on my other monitor using either port. What could be the problem?

How do you make monitor power button turn on when basic connection is in place after power outage?
@rickh8380 Жыл бұрын
@@sherryhesner5940 There is a power button on the bottom of the monitor. It's usually on the lower bottom right. If you press it.... Blue LED = Power on with a video signal from the computer. Yellow LED = Standby Mode, no signal from the computer. Will turn blue when it gets a video signal from the computer when it's turned on. Hope that helps.
