Fun fact: Nahida's character teaser was uploaded on her *actual* in-game birthday. Everyone in the collective fandom that day were mad and swore to bust Nahida from confinement and punish the ones responsible lol. Also, during the time of Wanderer's character teaser, I was going through some things. His teaser resonated a lot with me because of the line "I wish I've never been born at all". No spoilers but, Wanderer lost a lot, I also lost a lot, and watching that part, all I saw was me.

Hey just a heads up, when you get to Sumeru do NOT finish the archon quests right away. Once they are done they permanently change all the lore in the game. You can learn a lot about the world of Genshin and all of the associated lore prior to the permanent revisions from the archon quest. No spoilers but do as much as the side quests and learn of the world as much as possible prior to finishing the archon quests and look through the journals as well as the character voicelines (those also get permanently changed after the archon quests. Enjoy the game!

@@ProfessorBeard A lot of the side quests in the early game feel kind of bland and most of the lore that you find is from tales (books, etc), monsters, artifacts, and weapons. But they do tend to get a bit more interesting and more involved the further you progress through the game. Fontaine has several long sidequests that really shine a light on lore from ancient times and gives clues to the identity of certain characters. It’s also done in sumeru, but much more hidden in liyue, inazuma, and mondstadt. So absolutely, take your time, explore things, and be prepared to read quite a bit. It may feel like the story being told to you is kind of simple, but after reading the lore and meeting a couple of very specific characters, you will learn that the entire happy go lucky anime story is much, much darker than it would seem. Enjoy, it’s a cool story, and it takes a lot of stories from real world history. Example, Mondstadt is German based, and much of the lore can be reflected from Germanic lore. Inazuma, lot’s of Japanese lore, etc. Those don’t really change too much, but the Sumeru lore changes very drastically once you finish the archon quest so explore as much as you can. It’s worth it not just for the story of Sumeru, but the story of Teyvat, the archon wars, and the tragedy from 500 years previous. Happy gaming!

Most of the 5*, you'll eventually meet in some form or another. However, a select few such as Eula, Albedo, and Ayato, do not appear in the Archon quests and you'll only meet them in their story quests or a limited event that features them. So you might want to do those quests when they become avaliable. The button to access the story quests is hidden away in the quests section so be sure to take a look when you get a chance. And remember to claim a story key while you're at it.

Hu Tao is the funeral parlor's director, and Zhongli is the funeral parlor's consultant 5. 13:20 it is not, in fact, Diluc XD 6. the "Gunnhildr girl" in Eula's teaser is actually Jean, as her full name is Jean Gunnhildr 7. 20:55 i would absolutely love to have Yoimiya as my irl friend! i'm lucky to have this amazing girl in game, and i've honestly been in love with her personality since the day she was released!! 9. honestly, Ayato's teaser is still something i like to rewatch from time to time. it's just so calm and tranquil, much just like the character himself. mihoyo absolutely knew what they were doing when they released this man! i was so stunned once he got finally revealed (we knew about his existence for about a year before we got the first chance to see his face! talk about teasing!) 10. ah, yelan. the woman of my heart. haven't taken her out of my party since i got her in 2.7, and she's probably gonna stay in it for a veeeery long time too 11. i'm not sure i remember how you were pronouncimg Tighnari's name, but the way they pronounce it in the english dub is, in fact, not the correct way to pronounce it. it's an arab name, but the pronounciation was changed drastically to fit with the rules of english language. which is understandable, but it still irks me a bit 12. this is another bit of misinformation. a harmless one, but still. so, in Cyno's teaser that scholar says that the akademiya has dedicated officers to keep tabs on all the scholars, right? but then he says that they're all called "matra", which isnt correct. you see, there's no such thing as just "matra", all of these officers should be called "mahamatra", and Cyno just has the title of a General among them that's all :D also, about Cyno's voice! a bit of a fun fact, but he's voiced by Alejandro Saab, aka Jing Yuan's VA in HSR. in both games he voices a character who is 1) a general; 2) has white hair; 3) weilds lightning/electro as an element XD 13. conclusion: Dehya is a wholesome buttkicker!! 14. oh man, Neuvillette.. i've been excited for him since the very first time he was shown in a preview teaser for Fontaine (the nation we're currently in, as of version 4.0). he looks gorgeous, his voice sounds absolutely badass (in every single voice over!!), and his lore is just insane (i'm telling that as a genshin lore nerd, this man has such a complicated and full of secrets past). can't wait to pull for him next wednesday!!

Maha means - Great or Leader and Matra means - Unit (also can be used as Measurement), so Cyno is General Leader of Matra, or full translate - General Leader of Units, there are multiple Generals, but Leader - Maha, of Units - Matra, just one - Mahamatra.

@@Xelluse in genshin lore, maybe. but i was talking about real life title, from which those "matra" in genshin were inspired (all that "officers in charge of various administrational aspects and justice" thing). in real life world, mahamatra were never referred to as just "matra" - always the full "mahamatra" word, occasionally paired with some indicators of their responsibilities, such as Amta-mahamatras, who were in charge of foreigners, or Stri-adhyaksha- mahamatras, in charge of women.

Dehya's teaser and demo aren't as incongruous as you think. In the teaser, she's obviously going well out of her way to get the girl to a good orphanage and donates tons of her money to it. It's really sweet. But in her demo, even while she was roughing up that guy, she tried to convince him to leave the village alone first, then when Candace arrived and went for a kill shot, she blocked the attack and talked her down for him. Dehya is so amazingly wholesome for a character that could have just been a token badass merc character. It's great.

But the 4 stars on limited banners have a one in three chance to be pulled. I used all my primos on standard banner hoping for a particular character when I was a new player 😢

Here’s a comment for Baizhu’s teaser and some of the story stuff you’ve played. We can see in this teaser that when someone is really sick, Baizhu looks for ways to help them save Mora and provide cheaper but good options. But when it was about something not life threatening like in the story, he can charge a lot. Also, he has no issue charging the Fatui a lot of money, which works for me.

Fischl is 6 star... 🥰 Still is one of the best s.c. pocket DPS characters in the game and if you will have a chance I do recommend to pull for her, also they often give her for free on some critical events. Btw, that's not said in the game, so I think will not be considered as a spoiler, but there are some interesting things about Fischl, her real name Amy also present in The Lesser Key of Solomon (Ars Goetia), where all Archon names are taken from (as the Paimon's), also her familiar Oz, also present there, name Amy comes right after Oze (Ose, Oso, in Latin it reads like - Oze or Oz), also quite interesting that she is the only character who literally have a Familiar in the game and in her Event quest sky in her realm was exactly the same you'll see in future and quite critical quest* that explains some things about world of Teyvat (Genshin's world), and also very strange thing is that her main theme, music theme have similarities to Fatui theme and Signora. We are not sure that this all are s.c. References to real Fischl or it means something for her specifically, but there are some strange and interesting things about this character that are not told in the game. P.S. - Also Fischl is the only 4 star character that have Teaser.

@@ProfessorBeard It will be hard to get her from standard, it is hard to get something specific from Standard, cos all 4* characters go there and pull to get a specific one is very huge, so better wait for her rerun, Fischl was last time in 3.6 event banner (if I remember it right), so she definitely should get rerun soon, hope so, cos there still is a chance that she may not rerun for 10 banners again, but she is often given in events, so maybe in future events they will give her for free again.

@@ProfessorBeard As I thought, Fischl will be in next event Banner (in 2 days already) with Neuvillette/Hu Tao and you liked Hu Tao, so quite nice opportunity to get both, also in same banner there are 2 quite good characters too: - Diona, that is quite good Cryo shielder and energy recharger for Cryo characters also good Heal - Xingqiu, who is amazing pocket DPS too and works perfectly for reaction teams, with Pyro, Cryo, Dendro In short - that are really strong banners, especially for new players

There are some characters with rly sad stories but they dealed with it much better and/or it's not their main focus, so teasers didn't show it properly. Basically all archons have tragic backstories, two of them weren't cached in the teasers. Others characters that are not Archons and have rly tragic stories are Qiqi and Eula, Dehya as well. About Eula she have some rly great fanmade videos showing her story instead. Definitely recommend checking these out. Especially: Eula Life Journey by 喵太Miota.

Keith did a good job on Zhongli's English.
