Man, there is only one ultimate archer: Ganyu. She is the only one who fires AOE attacks with charged shots - and can cover entire enemy camps with one or several shots, without even needing to aim accurately. Also, she is one of the strongest characters in terms of damage.

BTW. The thing with bow users is that they sometimes don't use their bows that much. For example, Fischl has a bow but her main role is to just pop E or Q to summon the raven, and then leave the field. Childe has a bow, but he's used to pop E to transform into a dual-wield melee stance for a short while and then you switch out to someone else. Diona has a bow, but she's mainly used to pop her E/Q to activate a shield and healing. Yelan has a bow, but her job is to pop E to hit enemies and pop Q to assist your main dps. Venti has a bow, but he's mainly used to pop his skill to gather enemies and switch out. And so on. ^_^ From top of my head, I think the only characters that rely on their bows are Yoimiya, Lyney, and Ganyu (with charged shots, she's like AoE sniper).

3:36 Chinese zombie, their actual term is called JiangShi. If you google Jiangshi, you'll get some really scary images. Chinese folklore Jiangshi are more similar to vampires than actual zombies, because they suck blood with their vampiric fangs instead of eating people. These vampires have talisman placed on their heads by Taoist priest/masters to render them into a trance and suppress their bloodlust. Once the talisman is removed, they go back to being a blood-sucking monster with incredible strength. One interesting lore about them is that they have a strong sense to living breathes .. or CO2 exhales, that's how they hunt their prey that tries to hide.

@@ProfessorBeard Yw! I hope you keep enjoying Genshin! Pure healers you have Baizhu, Kokomi, QiQi, Kuki Shinobu. There are other characters considered to be healers but the healing is reliant on Bursts or activating Passives. Right now the great debate is between Baizhu and Kokomi being best healer. Baizhu can heal with his skill and Burst, and his passive heals active characters by picking plants up in overworld (also works great for healing underwater in Fontaine). Drawback is there's a little bit of delay because he attacks first then heals on return but the amount he can heal per tick gets insanely high. Another drawback, unless you get him to C2 he has to be onfield to apply Dendro. At C2, he'll apply it off field and also provide an attack/heal sprite every 5 seconds while in combat. Kokomi on the other hand is like Barbara on steriods. She does really good for providing Hydro on and off field and the heals are immediate. Really just comes down to your playstyle and game goals which healer works best for you.

I first got into Genshin about 2 years ago and when I got to Liyue and saw Baizhu, I was like, "This guy has a very intricate design . . . . why is he not playable?!" I did manage to get him when he came out last year because I wanted a better healer. I do love Barbara, but her cooldown takes forever lol. Still I feel it's better to have a Healer than not one at least. Saves up on foods, especially when you have a limit to how much you can eat.

Baizhu is an amazing healer! And yes, he is a doctor. I got him this summer, and he’s all that I wanted. Love the dendro powers he has and the healing. The snake Changsheng is very cool too.

I got Baizhu too and eventually want to replace Barbara with him, but I do have a quick question. Have you faced that Iniquitous Baptist foe that drops one of his Ascension items, Evergloom Ring? If so, is he a hard or easy boss because I looked at the elements he uses and he looks tough.

@@Zodia195 Great question! I actually do not find this boss to be tough. The important thing is to bring elements that will counter his attacks. And you can see what elements he'll use from a distance before you strike, because the particles appear in the air when you reach the area. I usually brought a pyro, a hydro, and maybe a dendro or cryo character. I also have Zhongli, so I was using his shield during the fight. But you shouldn't have to use him. Once the boss activates and throws down his three elements around him. Destroy each one with a counter elemental attack. Then the boss is weakened, attack him and then when he gets back up, he will rotate between his three elements. Just use the counter element against him each time and he is very weak to those attacks. I hope you find that he seems scarier than he really is. Also, you can use Deepwood artifacts on Baizhu, but if you don't mind fighting in the wolf domain in Inazuma, you can put an Ocean-Hued Clam 4 piece set on him. That's what I have, and I love it. I learned how to fight in that domain using mostly four stars, and someone posted a good video on in KZbin, that showed the advantage of fighting the wolves from a certain corner of the domain.

To give an idea on the age of the Archons to date. Mondstadt: Venti - Anemo Archon (Bow user) Age: around 2,600 years old. Liyue: Zhongli - Geo Archon (Polearm user) Age: between 2,000 & 6,000 years old. Inazuma: Raiden Shogun - Electro Archon (Polearm user) Age: over 2,000 years old (Archon for last 500 years). Sumeru: Nahida - Dendro Archon (Catalyst user) Age: 500 years old. Fontaine: Focalors - Hydro Archon (???) Age: around 500 years old.

I could never tell what kind of weapon Raiden uses, I always thought it was a sword for some reason, but okay it's a polearm. Okay I am calling it now, Focalors is a Sword user. Region is based on France (and a bit of Italy) so a fencing blade would be perfect. Well it doesn't have to look exactly like a fencing blade, but pay homage to one. I'll be curious if either of the last 2 Archons will use a claymore though. I'd like to think all weapon types would get used by the archons.

About the early videos: limited budget and staff issues aside, pre-release Genshin Impact was working hard to differentiate itself from the label of being a cheap copy of Breath of the Wild. (Rather, it's a very good copy of Breath of the Wild: more seriously, the trick here was realizing how important the decades of worldbuilding behind the entire Legend of Zelda franchise was to its success. Exploration loses a lot without a world filled with things to find, and it's best when those things are connected to stories.) In gameplay terms, the biggest early divergence beyond the art style and landscapes was the elemental interactions and team system, so it was very important to show those right off and in as many places as possible. This is also why you see so few early demos for characters players are guaranteed to run into and get. Even later, characters who don't appear in the main storyline at the time might not get demos: this basically vanishes once we hit Inazuma. There was a Chinese VA scandal that affected Fischl's early appearances in the game (it wasn't with her voice actress). Nobody wanted at the time to release an English dub of her demo, and nobody's actually gone back and dubbed it. Subtitles are perfect, though. Qiqi doesn't talk: she orders her undead body to talk. It's not that she's emotionally dead, it's that tone of voice doesn't usually survive that extra step. Fun game: guess which character Xinyan shares an English voice actress with (it's somebody you have in your collection). She can and has sung in both voices. Ganyu: mixed heritage causes its problems. She has a perfect internal clock that won't let her sleep when there's work to do, and she's held the position of Secretary in Liyue's government for so long that the government has grown around her. There's nearly always work to be done. Hu Tao: You'll probably meet those two guys in Liyue. They've bummed around for a while trying to be badass criminals, but just don't have it in them. Yanfei (speaking of mixed heritage) is a notable throwback to the early days: she was released alongside Zhongli and the devs were busy, while she doesn't appear in the main storyline it is very hard to accidentally miss what turns out to be her story quest, but her story quest doesn't happen to have any combat at all. The demo exists to tell players that yes, she's already a playable character, and to give them that first glimpse at her combat form. (She's surprisingly like Klee with far less shock and awe and quirky tricks but more poise and balance: you'll need to evade and dodge playing Yanfei but you won't trip up trying to. Her seals even mine ore like Klee's bombs.) Tempting though it was to continue at many later points, I've got other things to do today and shall stop here. Nice seeing you.

You got about 5 days to get either Zhongli or Tartaglia but if you don’t get them, next version will have the Hydro Catalyst Neuvillette and our first Cryo Catalyst in Wriothesly, I’ll be rolling for the latter as I’m guaranteed my next limited 5 star as the last one I pulled was my 4th copy of Diluc after I got Tartaglia. Btw, when you roll on the limited banners, there’s something called the 50/50, which is basically when you try for the character in the banner, there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll get them or one of the standard banner characters which are Diluc, Keqing, Mona, Jean, Qiqi, Tighnari, and Dehya

just a tip… character’s weapon types don’t really matter in most cases, it’s the elemental types you should focus on. having 3 bow characters in a team? that’s fine. having 3 hydro characters in a team? not so great.

The early character trailers were released before the game was out, so they focused more on showing the game than the respective characters. That's why they show off landscapes and the main mechanic - elemental reactions. Besides, the main purpose of later trailers is to get people excited for upcoming characters so they'd open their wallets. There's no real need to advertise, say, Kaeya, since players get him for free anyway. Yes, Fischl can turn into Oz the raven and fly over the battlefield. It doesn't look as epic in the game as in the trailer. Plus Oz is a little clunky to control. But it is indeed a real game mechanic. Qiqi has arguably the saddest backstory of all playable characters. She became collateral damage in a battle between adepti and a demon, and in her dying moments she received a Cryo Vision. Adepti tried to bring her back to life, but it didn't go smoothly. After awakening Qiqi went berserk and had to be encased in amber. Centuries later, her body trapped in amber was discovered by people who decided to bring her to Liyue Harbor for a proper burial. However, the amber cracked while being transported, and Qiqi awakened and escaped.
