As a 992.1 GTS owner I do love the "physical key" on the left and the analog tach. I understand it's cheaper to use a start button and an entire digital dash, but the previous use of both digital and analog in the .1 seemed like a happy median for owners and Porsche AG. The new GTS I've heard is pretty damn fast...as it should be for $200k US.

I’ve driven 911s since the 993 turbo. For 25 years 3 GT3s . In 6 years Porsche has raised prices so much a 911GTS is almost at the base price of a Ferrari. As a huge Porsche fan and owner of various 911's for decades (like you clearly are) I must admit even if not completely there is somewhat something true about what you're saying. Especially when nowadays owning a GT3 and especially in the RS department, it has become inaccessible. I am not able to purchase 10 models in a few months to even make it on the list. Here in the US, each state gets what, 2-3 allocations per year for a GT3 RS. It's worse than Ferrari and this is so much not Porsche, it never was like this. This review made me look at the configurator at the Porsche site and this is the first time as a Porsche loyal customer for ages I was lost while trying to configure a new 992.2 GTS. I totally can't find my marks, I have no idea what their marketing team is doing... Anyway, I am not tapping into Ferrari nor Lambo yet, since there are way more significant issues coming with the ownership of these. I am a "daily-ish driver" of 911s, I've always used them for what they are built for, I am not a collector and the type of owner who stresses about depreciation and all the associated moments like "omg there is one 1 micron stone chip on the front bumper" etc. So definitely I cannot switch to Ferrari (or Lambo), completely different philosophy, not reliable cars, not usable, too flashy, noisy, etc. etc. Porsche has me still and I'd be not offended at all if I'd just get a new base Carrera model even with the price tag. The world is changing and everything is relative :)

Your presentations are very personable and enjoyable. I suggest that they would be even more appreciated if you told about some of the specification details of the vehicle that you’re testing. In this case of the 911 why not give a brief commentary about the specifics of what color it is and what’s suspension does it actually have or not And I noticed from information that I’ve seen that although you said that the car was on wheels and tires that are 19 in the front and 20 in the back, from the Porsche side itself here in the USA the wheels on the vehicle that you were driving are 20s in the front in 21s in the back. Given this commentary I still want to encourage you to keep up the good work👍

Porsche certainly sets the benchmark when it comes to sports car technologies and performance! However, if their Twin Turbo S is going to costs as much as a Lamborghini, I'm going to buy a Lamborghini and go with a mid-engined twin turbo V8! The flat six is good but no matter how much Porsche wants to squeeze out that motor even with a battery hybrid drivetrain, it is still a flat six ! ! ! Also, Porsche needs to make their $20,000.00 Matrix LED headlights an option to keep the costs down. No doubt the headlights are beyond what most manufacturers can come up with but considering many can't make use of those headlights that often, it isn't worth the price of entry ! ! !

FWIW, the optional "better power steering" isn't really "better". Power Steering Plus simply reduces steering effort at low speeds; it provides no additional responsiveness, feel or feedback. I guess if one needs an assist turning the wheel during low-speed maneuvering it might be useful, otherwise it's a waste of USD $300. Liked the review otherwise.

An absolutely clueless review. You are confused about the Carrera vs the GTS. The Carrera does not come with an electric motor, it does not offer PASM nor Ceramic Brakes. Also, does not come with a Rear Differential. Frankly, if you are to make a review at least spend 10 minutes on the Porsche website and learn the facts.
@whatcarwhattime3 ай бұрын
@@MrDoritis An absolutely great review, as many of my other reviews. Holding my ground here actually. A little mistake regarding the electric motor on the gearbox. PASM was stated in the info at the page that you could get it as an option. Maybe not the ceramic brakes. It was a sheet of info that merged both the Carrera and GTS into one, therefore a little mixed up. Sorry for that. But no need to be so unsupportive and negative. Light up a little and just enjoy the rest of the good things about this review, I mean just look at the driving 😉💪❤️ Thanks for watching and dont forget to watch all other reviews on the channel ❤️🙏

@@whatcarwhattime Sorry to be negative, but I've watched a number of Porsche videos. I viewed this one as one of many "gee what a nice car" videos that are subjective and provide little to no analysis. An example of what I find useful are videos such as those by Savage Geese (odd name, yes). I have two Porsches (911 C4S Cab and cayenne S) and know them well, so perhaps I'm looking for more than someone who does'nt know them.
@whatcarwhattime2 ай бұрын
@ak203 No worries and I respect that and appreciate your honesty. I love all people out there that are real geeks and know very much about certain models and car brands. I consider myself knowledgable over the spectrum but not among the "elite". Im a driver, a hardcore one, and I do base much of the reviews I do on that and to bring that too light. It is always a hot potato for me with Porsches when it comes to the driving sensation because they talk a lot to you as a driver. But there are sure many other cars that do so as well and some few, maybe a little extra at times. Thats why I'm always a little extra tickled with inspiration when driving these. But I'm happy for feedback and even more happy that you watched the review. Hope you like many of the other on the channel and looking forward to many more to come.
