Nice to see a video that actually shows what it says, without heavy bass and inappropriate music :) The pilots were very friendly, I liked the "thanks for your patience" from them and equally your interaction with the pilots. I wish I had known about such employment years ago, I would have loved to work on the ramps and as an ex Large Goods lorry driver, ex tour coach driver and ex train driver (yes, I love driving) I would love to have driven the various push-back vehicles. Best wishes from Ireland.

Seeing an aerobridge on a Dash, amuses me 😂
@mikemac28888 жыл бұрын
Didn't know they could go that low, but I guess if it's nasty outside. First ride was a Dash 7. Open flight on the return leg, got to sit in the jump seat for the trip even during landing. Fun stuff.

If the ground crew is employed by the actual airline they are treated COMPLETELY different than the contracted ground crews. I worked for a vendor for almost 15 years and the difference in how you are treated is so immense that I would purchase my own Uniform shirts, jackets etc. from the Carrier out of pocket and never wore the vendor branded uniform. If you work for a Vendor, try it out sometime. 😊

This is crazy. They start Engine 2 while still the Door is open and the Aerobridge is close to the flight. Guess different airports and different companies follow their own way. As I am a Q300 Lead my self I do the walk around and close the door and then once it's all clear tell the captain it's clear 2 and then 1 and once both engines start gets the confirmation to disconnect the ground power close everything and remove the chocks.

Nice video....ENG 2 is starting without flashing anti-collision lights or why are the street traffic behind the AC doesn´t stopped???? I know that a Dash haven´t got a strong jet blast but If you driving behind an aircraft with running engine(s) then you get a lot of trouble with the airport marshalls here in germany.....
@HDCOCKPITSCENES6 жыл бұрын
Tddy8583 the beacon was ON you just can't see it. And you're allowed to pass behind if you see the bridge connected and no marshalls. After all there is no blast behind the prop because it was "feathered". (just google feathered props)
@Tddy85836 жыл бұрын
Interesting......here is it not allowed to pass an A/C if the becon is switched ON - no matter that the bridge or ground power is connected. If the becon lights are ON it is forbidden to pass the aircraft. But thank you very much for the answer. Good Night - or for you have a nice evening!
@HDCOCKPITSCENES6 жыл бұрын
Tddy8583 yeah every airport have different laws. In YUL the only plane you can pass behind is the dash8. But you must make sure one of the conditions I told u are applied.

It is push to talk, but on few planes you can hear all what pilots say. Like in here or on Embraer planes.

Please forgive my ignorance for this question - I’m not educated with aircraft minus the casual knowledge most people have. But with prop planes, is there a suction area with these planes like there is with the jets? I’m assuming there isn’t one - or at least not one as significant as a jet turbine engine.

Why start 2 with bridge on and doors open... No wing walkers or push clearance either.... Kinda weird
@Milehi6h8 жыл бұрын
Hamza Hassan most of the time the GPU is supplied from the bridge and not an external unit. In order to remove the bridge you must have the GPU stowed and not in use. So they have to start #2 in order to have power, hydraulic pressure. Then bridge removal.
@hamzahassan63158 жыл бұрын
Chris Foster didn't realize the GPU was supplied from the bridge. it all makes sense now.

Why start engine #1 so soon? Are they hoping to set a speed record taxi-ing? :-)
@HDCOCKPITSCENES8 жыл бұрын
Start no. 2 at the gate to have electricity before we disconnect the GPU. Then we start no.1 because the runway is close to the gate. This let the engines to warm up a bit before full power.
@royce0858 жыл бұрын
It looks like the GPU was already disconnected before they started #2. That GPU panel being left open was driving me a little crazy.

aircanada never need any wingwalkers??... I have seen that happening at my local airport too. I work for westjet, I think they are more safe and secure.
@piotreklolowo6 жыл бұрын
xTeddy _ well, in my airport EPGD only Ryanair require „wingman” due to high accident on ground indicator.
@EpicAwesomesauce4 жыл бұрын
Air Canada uses wingwalkers, the camera just didn't pick them up. If it's a small Jazz plane, like any of the Dashes or CRJs, and out from a gate without a bridge, most of the time it will be a 2-person crew and therefore one wingwalker. If it's a gate with a bridge, then there will be at least a 3-person crew and therefore two wingwalkers.

Honestly I work in Vegas we do both west jets and air Canadas west jets are way better to do ramp than air Canadas in my opinion

which airport is it? the engine is spinning but still belt loaders and other vehicles are passing from behind the aircraft , anti collision lights is working also but guys are still passing ,if we do that here we will be charged.
@HDCOCKPITSCENES8 жыл бұрын
Well how it works is that on dash 8 they can pass behind if the gate still ON because the props are on feather. When I'm ready to pushback I let know the wingmen and they will stop the traffic.
