App Lab doesn't suck. I will try to explain why the current system is a fair one and we should be asking more places like Playstation to do the same system when their headset comes out. You are comparing discovery and installation of an applab game to the ease of official supported games however you should be comparing it to side loading content which app lab is far superior and is much better for the average person to do. There are plenty of places that list app lab games and direct links to them as well just like sideloading content but you don't need to connect to a computer or phone and download the file you can just do it all there which is much easier and better option for most people. App Lab games are not really supported on quest in terms of comfort and all the things that can give people a really bad experience and will complain and cost meta money in terms of dealing with support on. Them including it in search at all is amazing. They don't want to promote the app lab games because it does not meet their quality that they want the average consumer to experience. However we demanded and they allowed a system in place where we could still get official much easier access then sideloading access to the content. TLDR: App Lab was made to make getting content you would have to sideload easier and it does make it significantly easier even if it doesn't make it as easy as officially supported games that has had meta's approval and that is a fair trade.

So I play the game Virtuoso in passthrough. The experience is much more easy on my eyes, I can remain in VR much longer. Passthrough is allowing our VR headsets to demonstrate how enjoyable AR can be, hopefully opening more doors for greater improvements.

I still have the quest 1 and ever since getting back into school I have used it more for productivity then games. I use vSpacial so I can have more monitor space since I can add up to 4 virtual monitor, if I had the wifi and pc power for it I would set the resolution of those to 4k. It also has a pass-through window so you can see your keyboard.

They have that. Don't know if its being sold to the masses yet, but saw a KZbinr video reviewing it. It's called Next Mind. Literally everything is controlled with your mind. Basic functionality as of now, but like everything in tech, it will continue to be developed and get better and better. Pretty cool

I do not own a Quest yet but it doesn’t seem to be a good time to buy just now. I was hopin for better AR functions than the Quest 2 has. The Cambria apparently will be twice as expensive so maybe I will wait for the Quest 3 (or even a competitor). As an older adult, the gaming does not interest me.

The Mirage Solo headset has had Passthrough KZbin on it since 2018 with MUCH higher passthrough quality than the Quest 2.

You're number 2 to mention the pass-through feature, and I have it installed, plus I'm on V38, but there is no way to turn it on in the Quest 2. No button. You don't show it either. Is it an April 1 joke?

I’m not following you at all here This is a specific app linked in the video description called Moon VR. Within the app you need to hit the Passthrough button. Download the software and experiment but not an April fools joke

@@EricForPresident You don't highlight how to turn on passthrough mode. I see the button at 2m46 now (little cube above the list of videos), but you never mention anywhere in this video that's how you turn it on. That button didn't show up for me. They should add another "passthrough" button in the background selection options. It's a great feature. (I ended up finding a video that did explain how to turn it on in the Moon Player discord. Uninstalled and reinstalled app and then it was there.)

That's not eye tracking, Quest 2 doesn't have any eye tracking hardware. This is head movement tracking, which is much safer for data collection and privacy.

You can add a bkutooth keyboard and mouse that will synch and allow you to see them, as well as the surface of your desk. I haven't tried it yet but my blutooth keyboard is older.
