I started my Sonia G collection about a year ago and I have fallen in LOVE 😍 They are AMAZING brushes, worth the investment and have changed my makeup routine for the better!! Question: what is the best way to wash the Sonia G brushes???

Dena Stoltz Hold down so no water gets in the ferrule! Use a mild mild soap. I swish gently in the beauty blender solid cleanser. Some use baby shampoo. Some use a mild mild bar soap. Gently run the water until clear. Air dry upside down or with brush head at a lower angle. That’s my method. And my brushes remain so beautiful and perfect! ❤️

I think this is great, I mean I watched it a year later. It’s a reference video that can hold up! I’d love gif people to know that fude can be for everyone. Good fide does not have to be expensive. I’m thinking of the Hakuhodo J series. Anyway this video is not about that but you made me think of it when you were making the lovely considerate commentary about not wanting to talk down to people who are fude experts or make people who maybe can’t financially justify these particular medium level priced brushes. I say medium because as you know the even fancier handles are even more $$. Anyway I have s decent fude “collection” but I wanted these two brushes and just purchased them and wanted to see what you thought! Well anyway, loved the video and your always spot on observations and commentary.

How KIND of you, Susan. I am so grateful for your comment. It's so hard to talk about fude. Some refuse to justify the price. Some people really ARE experts in, as you note, extremely expensive brushes. So it's that fine line between giving the info without insulting people who really have this amazing knowledge bank and collections already. But Sonia G just creates the most lovely products. I rely on them so much.

I have been going back and forth between whether to try out sigma brushes, or even zoeva before even considering buying Sonia G or Wayne Goss brushes. anna r How kind of you!!!! I’m so so thrilled that this was helpful! I honestly truly feel that Sonia’s brushes (Wayne’s too) are super game changers for applying makeup. Sigma and Zoeva make wonderful brushes too. But, if you’re kind of starting out on a natural brush journey, I highly highly recommend either this brush alone and/or one of the eye sets. You will be SHOCKED at how well your eyeshadow application goes. Things are pricey so there’s no shame in getting one brush and seeing how it goes, a little treat to add one here or there. But yes. Start with Sonia G as there’s not a bad one in the bunch. ❤️

Rocio Madrid hello!!! Oh the inochige pro is such a lovely lovely brush! It’s one of my favorites. Such a unique shape. I use it for blush and highlighter, even to powder under my eyes and around my nose. You can’t go wrong. If you don’t have the Face One, it will indeed come back but it might be some time. It’s taking so long these days with covid, with materials needed, etc. You truly can’t go wrong but I really believe you’d love the Incochige. ❤️ ❤️

I am intrigued by this brush. Does it make sense to invest in other very expensive brushes for bronzer/blush/highlight? If anyway we apply and buff a finishing powder on top then does it matter what you use for all the rest? Thank you:)

Ligia Gozman What a great question! So each of Sonia G’s brushes have a very specific duty. This one CAN also do bronzer and blush, which is helpful. But I see what you’re saying. You’re saying that if you are going to buff away imperfections anyway, why spend money on a whole set of expensive blush and bronzer brushes in addition? Am I correct? If so, then yes, this might just be THE brush that’s needed. Just a buffer to finish and perfect the look made by the usual synthetic brushes. Nothing wrong with that. And if you’re looking to spend less and not get a whole set, this definitely could be that one. Apply bronzer even blush and then buff and perfect. The reason people would then invest in a whole slew of other brushes as well is mainly for the experience, the art and joy of using a Japanese brush. Kind of like if you have a super expensive pan for a chef. Even though the one pan is kind of all he or she would need, they also end up with a whole set of pans so there’s always something clean and good, ready to use. Does that help? Please let me know if I didn’t answer your question 😃

Ligia Gozman Totally understood. This brush is actually a great Sonia G entry point. Rephr brushes are good, solid Japanese brushes. They are kind of multi purpose, dependable brushes that can be used for a big multitude of purposes. And the Sonia G brushes are also quite versatile but have more specific uses. Her brushes introduce us a bit more to the art and craftsmanship of the fude brush world. So if you’re enjoying your Rephr brushes, you would LOVE to try one from Sonia. This would indeed be a great starter from her collection. Remember, it’s a bit of a rabbit hole. Rephr doesn’t have a buffing brush that would compare to this experience so this might just be your perfect first Sonia G brush! 💕

Dena Stoltz Yes! Absolutely!! Personally I tend to use it with my finishing powder right at the end of my routine BUT absolutely any powder or even mineral foundation. You could use this to buff in the setting powder to blur fine lines and create a smooth canvas for the rest of your makeup. Absolutely. 😃 ❤️

I don’t own any Sonia G brushes. I use only synthetic brushes as I’ve always been skeptical and didn’t believe they made a difference but you’ve convinced to to try at least one brush. What brush would you recommend to start with? Something that’s going to make an impactful difference on application. Eye brushes or face/base brushes or powder brushes? Would love to know your opinion xx

Julie H You know, again, I never want anyone to feel like they HAVE to purchase something. But if you love makeup like we do and if you spend a pretty penny on it, you owe yourself to try great brushes. I find the most immediate impact, where you will BAM notice the difference is with an eye set. All of a sudden, good shadows get ten times better. The hype is truly real. And there are tons of great natural hair brushes on the market. It’s a rabbit hole for sure. But if you start with a Sonia G eye set you will be amazed. ❤️ ⭐️

I would get a nice eye blender and a face brush that is on the smaller side so that you can it for many uses. Sonia G Sky classic cheek and classic crease. On the regular (red handle) face two and crease two. I have all her brushes...but those are a good start. After that, smaller eye brushes and one of the fan face brushes. Hope you enjoy them!
