Thank you, Jason. Your honesty is so reassuring and it makes me feel a connection that goes far beyond just watching a video. That makes me believe that no matter what changes you go through, you will always be an inspiration for other people just if you keep your honesty.

And you've made a good point talking about that you're not really recovered because this fight is never really over. I believe that this applies to many other things, mental health issues as well! I think that it's a mistake and a road to disappointment to believe that one day you will make it, everything will simply get better and you will be happier from the day on. That's not how it works. The struggle goes on but what might actually make you happier is when you manage those issues at least a bit better, usually after working on yourself for a while. The ease that you feel after hard times and struggles and also a sense of control of yourself and your life will almost surely make you feel better about everything.

Yes, you're right. I think it's easy to set up unrealistic expectations, when we go about things believing that one day things are going to be "cured". With mental illness and addiction, it's about the work that we put in, to better maintain and handle the struggles, when they arise. Mindfulness has been so crucial to my recovery. So has the support. Thank you for continuing to show me support and kindness, my friend. 😊✌

Iwanttoplaymymusic That’s the Truth!♥️ I Agree with Jason’s comment too. In Recovery from addiction and/or mental illness it requires work. The harder we learn and work to get better, the better everything will be! When I first got clean from opiate addiction, I thought that was IT, but that’s not realistic. It requires work. We Can Get A Whole Lot Better, though! We may come out of all this even Stronger.😊♥️✌️

@@TheseFourWalls Thank you for such a nice reply, dear Jason. As usually, you used perfect words to describe it - it's about the work that we put in - I have been focusing on all this work lately, especially since this summer. What I sometimes struggle with is that this work is often invisible to others so it's really you who needs to say when you need it and why it is so important. I definitely felt like I needed it and I went through it but I still couldn't help feeling like I'm not doing anything "important" because in "real" and visible life it meant I was postponing things I was supposed to do, thing that are "important", especially the ones related to university. But I finally feel the effect of this work because I feel better now and I feel like my mind is finally at least a bit prepared for focusing on future. And I see how it is essential to focus and work on yourself. If you can, you need to put yourself first. I realize I'm not over it yet, perhaps I'm not over it at all but what I truly believe in is that people like you, Jason, have helped me very much. So thank you.

I'm not here because I have been trying to stay sober nor I know how this struggle feels like. But still following your journey inspires me. I felt connected to you and your story instantly after watching some of your older videos and that connection didn't go away even though you describe going through different issues than I go through. Your journey is inspiring, I'm happy about your progress but what makes me feel even more hopeful is that I have noticed this change in the way you talk, it's just my impression and I don't really know anything but I feel like just from how you talk to us it seems that you are happier now, more satisfied with yourself and your life and also feeling more in control. All those things seem visible to me, like a glow that surrounds you. And that's what's inspiring and what makes everything more hopeful and more possible. And my sincere wish to you is that you keep this glow and perhaps make it even brighter, day after day.

@@Iwanttoplaymymusic Thank you for such a kind comment. I'm filled with warmth and gratitude, and an humbled by you saying my videos are helping you, in any way. I'm so glad. And your support has helped me. The support you've all offered me has been critical in my recovery journey. So, a massive thanks to you and everyone supporting me. I'm glad you've been focused on the work you've needed for yourself. I agree, it's invisible work - that, to others, may look like unreliability or cancellations or tardiness... But the work we do on ourselves and our mental health is crucial to staying ontop of things. I'm proud of you for putting the work in, and I'm so glad it's starting to benefit you. 😊💜✌🌻

So happy to see you are still goin strong. I need to double down on my own “wellness venture” . . I have started journaling and started reading the “Daily Reflections” book every day. Tonight I’m looking online for a local addiction doctor. For me, I’m having trouble with the first step . . I can’t admit being an addict! I just don’t think I am. Yes I was dependent on the pills . . . Anyway, does it really matter? I need help. Thanks for being here friend 🙏
@TheseFourWalls
@TheseFourWalls 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for following my journey, and for your kind comment. To be honest, I had a little trouble with the first step too. Until I thought about it. Had I made bad decisions or lied to get pills? Yes. Could I have pills around, and not take them? No. Had I hurt people because of my addiction? Yes. Was my addiction to pills hurting me or my bank account or my health and emotional well being? Yes. So, I realized I was quite powerless to my addiction. Think about what your dependency meant, to you and others in your life. Then maybe you'll see the first step differently. It's only about surrendering to the idea that we don't have power over our drug of choice. It has/had power over us. I wish you all the best in your recovery, going forward. I'm proud of you, for starting your wellness venture. Remember to be proud of yourself for every baby step you make. We're starting out the new year right! 😊💜✌🙏

Thank you so much for that take on the first step, it really helped. Your words are magical. The “idea” of the first step is sort of like the spirit of the law vs the letter of the law. As we all know the letter of the law kills and the spirit gives life. This is good stuff, tomorrow I set up my first doctor visit.

Thanks so much for the support, Paige! Yes, recovery is so very different for everyone. And we're all recovering from different things. (Drugs, trauma, messed up childhoods, ect.)
