@DecrepitOrigin888 while I like fear innoculum and believe it is a masterpiece, it’s more like a work of art to me rather than enjoyable music. I can’t listen to a fear innoculum song on its own, I gotta be in the right mindset to listen to the whole album. Even though I usually listen to tool albums in their entirety and not songs on their own.

Danny has ALWAYS been like this. For 20+ years, he's been talking about new EPs, unused footage, a live DVD. *When they say they're working on "new material" keep in mind they may take 6 months to 2 YEARS to get a song to the point they can send it to Maynard to start writing lyrics.*

@@ADHDrumming absolutely! Though to give some credit to that previous commenter, I do think that because of their overwhelming success and that they are such a "household name" now, about as commercially mainstream as a psych rock band can be, that has turned some people off to them & lost some of their older fans, unfortunately. I still remember my initial discovery in the late 90s, Aenima & pre-Lateralus, and seeing their rise over the last decades does create some ambiguous feelings, but overall it's always great that new generations find meaningful art and in my opinion it's inspiring and satisfying that such a commercial success still has stayed so genuine and authentic! Much love to all fans regardless of their personal judgments. Keep a loving, open mind!

Since becoming a fan of TOOL now almost 30 years, they are the one of the only bands in my lifetime that have released an album for each era of my life and those albums both perfectly defined and expositioned my life at the time of their release: Aenima in my pre-teen adolescence, full of curiosity and feral emoations and on the cusp of prying open my third eye sotospeak... Lateralus in my high school late teens, evolving and discovering mind expanding ideas and philosophies, spiraling out and keeping on going... 10,000 Days during my young adulthood, with a hardened sometimes cynical world view but fully immersed in the journey... and now Fear Inoculum in my grown adult years, nostalgic and battle-scarred but surviving and moving forward... I wonder if their next album in 10 years will define my old age and retierment haha... It's quite mindboggling but oh so wonderful. We're really lucky that Danny, Maynard, Adam, and Justin (and Paul!) crossed paths and decided to make music together

I pray one more album, or at least some tour dates. this band was always around but I never payed attention to them being born in 98, but here lately especially in quarantine I dove deep into tool with the help of some mind expanding items. I’ve really grown to love the music and the band watching all videos and getting vinyl has really been a great way to experience the band thus far! This band makes you listen to the music and not just hear it.

What Tool really needs to do is another live album, or better yet, a stripped down, pro shot studio session. If you don't know what I'm on about, look up KEXP and Audiotree sessions. Its some of the best live music recorded in recent memory. Too bad they aren't the type of band that would ever do that kind of thing.

Adam is definitely the one holding back progress of the band. Get with the times and start releasing stuff. A live show on Netflix would be a great start. I don't get trying to be mysterious anymore. It's time to introduce new fans. Bring the younger generation in. There's huge potential for success releasing a live show. Just look at the reaction to the DC drum for Pneuma. 14 million views at last count.
