Erin, can you perhaps please post a video with instructions, on how to convert a furniture (not the Detolf) into functional, roomy Hamster cages...? I find that there's a severe lack of guides on for example, converting the IKEA Kallax, or Hemnes furniture etc. Those of us without talent for DIY might have (Sugarcoating, I DO have!) trouble with building a cage from scratch, it feels like a mountain I cannot climb... :-/

The two wooden chews in the second box are softwood, so if your hamster chews it the glue can get stuck in their pouches which can cause a few issues 💕 I'm so jealous of the seagrass tunnel, had one 2 years ago and my hamster destroyed it with per but I haven't been able to find one since 😅

I got those in my piggy box, I get a subscription from the U.K., it's called Piggy Box, it's really, really nice! It was just started in December of 2019, and I've been a subscriber since they opened. Most of the products are healthy hopper, or Rosewood, and I also have those wooden chews. Dear Erin, I have just discovered your channel. 😻 I LOVE IT 👏🏼💫 I am about to get a rescue hamster (tonight), excitement levels are high. My husband and I have cared for rabbits for 18 years, but sadly now after all living to old ages and great full lives they have passed. A hamster at the moment suits us well. We have spent a week preparing and researching all things hamster, so all set up with a large natural IKEA Detolf cage set up. Your site has been by far the most informative and enjoyable one to use as our primary research site. I have also read a few books and have a vetenerary one on its way. I want to share a random triumph. Maybe it will help someone else. I was having problems with my cat jumping up on my hamster's bin cage. She's a big cat, and I didn't trust her not to bend the lid. I kept getting her off and she'd get right back up again. She'd be all stressed with her tail whipping about. Luckily my hamster couldn't care less. She wasn't learning from the spray bottle. I finally found a solution! haha! I got some of that sticky cat tape you put on furniture to deter scratching. I covered the places she used to hop up to the cage and all of the solid plastic on the lid. She jumped up once and no more! my cat is so much more relaxed now. we can actually spend time with her instead of getting frustrated and shutting her in the bathroom.

Hi I have a hamster and I have a few questions, why is my hamster not active it has plenty of stuff to keep her busy but when she comes out at twilight she will walk around and sleep in a random spot, why does she chew the glass on her cage (we have a glass cage) her cage not to big but definitely not to small😄, and last is it normal for her to hide her food? (I don’t think she eats it) she just puts it behind her house that she sleeps in and I don’t really remember her eating it. Is she sick? PLEASE REPLY

Aw I love watching hamster videos, as well as ferret videos! All animal videos to be honest! Unfortunately hamsters and ferrets aren’t allowed in New Zealand.. But I have a dog, two cats and two birds! I love them so much
