Hi, UNAAS is a bike shop in Oslo, they have had their own branded ( but Chinese made)wheels for the domestic market for many years. It seems like they became available worldwide through winspace.

This is definitely a good and thorough review in my opinion. So, thanks for that - it helps with being in the market for some wheels. I'm a casual road biker, but put about 1700 miles a year on. I ride a Giant Defy Advanced, but it has original stock wheels, and these bad boys are about 2200grams, give or take. So, as you can imagine - first and foremost - want to lessen the weight. But, I see here with the comments that me feeling good about a 1500-1600gram offering is off the mark when considering carbons, much less carbons with carbon spokes at sub 1400grams. I'm a 180lb rider, so middle of the road and I don't think I need "robust" wheels. My question at this point is in considering cost/shipping/duties/quality and whatever else - how is a wheel like this going to stack up while also considering alloys from Hunt, Scribe, Boyd? I can get 1500-1600 gram alloys at about $500 give or take from these companies - and they're not made in China. Is it worth it at a current sale price of $699 USD on these for the extra 100 grams? Given I'm currently riding with boat anchors, I was super excited to get down to 1500 grams. Now, at this sale price of $699 on UNAAS Pro D40s , I'm tempted. Any comments?

I have the 2023 Hypers. 2 weeks ago, I was on brand new asphalt. Smooth as anything. Anyway, got distracted and wasn't looking at the road ahead and went right into a big, deep hole in the road where a utility is located. I was going at a pretty good clip and almost went out over the handlebars. To my surprise, my Hypers are perfectly fine, not even a tiny wobble. Amazing.

Since the tension of the spokes decreases during tubeless operation, I am concerned about how the tension of the spokes decreases when the tire is installed, whether the center will shift, and whether there will be vibration from side to side. (I'm using translation, so I'm sorry if my expressions are rude.)

Excellent review, as I’d expect. Definitely, food for thought for me. I’m after a new set of wheels. These look great for the price, but my only qualm is the weight of them. I’m currently, favouring a set of Magenes, but they’re near double in price. They’re 150 grams lighter. If you have suggestions I’d appreciate it
@stevenleffanue3 ай бұрын
That's the catch....you can get lighter but it costs more. Comes down to juggling what your priorities are. I'd say for light riders go for less weight , heavier riders for a more robust wheelset.

The double A is old Norwegian way of writing the letter Å which in english is the letter O like in Only. So you pronounced it completely wrong. no E in in it's pronounced like Unos Not Un-os like in Undo, but short N. Unaas is the surname of the brothers running the company. Espen Unaas established the company Unaas Cycling in 2008. The company has bike shops.

in 2024 for that price, this wheelset is a dog. head to chinertown forum to see who offers better specs & better value (hint: pretty much everybody). T700 is shyte, 27mm external is shite, and carbon spokes for that weight is shyte (due to using T700 mostly).
