Crazy that it's only 2021 when it came out. Feels like ages ago I last played it. It was a really good game underneath all that boring grind and lack of stuff to do - combat was good, sound was amazing and world was great. AGS have really given a masterclass in how to destroy a product with a huge potential.

Combat was clunky, PvE was easy and 1 and done, PvP was broken and full of meta abuse. the main quest was nothing but fetch quests. This game was horrible at launch, I am so glad they have turn around and started taking feedback from players and have considered new players more. I am excited for AGS and NW's future.

@kyleswrath exactly. Jay has a clip where he literally covers his eyes and shoots a BB at a player that's running circles around him and he hits every shot. Same goes for melee. If it was aim assist for ranged weapons then fine, but this target lock is basically aimbot

I will give a try to it. Personally, I do mostly pvp and not too much pve. I have done OPR for 3 horrible years, and I hope improvements with the matchmaking and also in the rewards. I'm not a fan of the island where you can only go solo. I would have preferred open pvp events in different areas on the map. The aim assist i think is a bad thing, but we will see it in OPR and arenas in the practice, but if it kills the fun of the combat system and the personal skills then for me that would be a no go and the end for me with NW.

Target lock in PvP is a horrible thing. I've been using a steam imput controller since 2021 and I've had no issues in hitting shots or melee. Controller does need a massive sensitivity increase because at 100 is still too slow, but Target lock is literally aimbot. PvP island is going to be a nightmare now because those hardcore PvPers camping the chests just won't miss So many upgrades only to be tarnished by such a stupid choice.

I see this more as bringing a great game to a wider audience and a revival of the old with a bit of twist. I haven't put as many hours in as you, but I've been around off & on since launch, enjoyed every minute of it (besides progress stopping bugs; which were usually addressed expediently). i don't think its a cash grab for console as much as i am upset. As a vet player with the lack of content and us waiting a year for a major announcement just for the said announcement to be that they are pretty much abandoning the PC players. I would be lying to myself and everyone else to say that the console players won't be getting a great game, they most definitely will have hundreds of hrs of content to look forward to, that being said knowing how AGS only ads content YEARLY console players will be right where we are within a few months, just miserably waiting for a "big update". So I hope the next big update brings much-needed endgame content overall.

I just am hoping that they've done some big work on the endgame. I've never had an issue with the 1 to 60 experience, even if it was kind of slow on launch. It's an MMO you know people who love MMOs come into them expecting to have to grind. That was never a problem. I do very much like how they've changed it though and I think it's great. Sure, it's after you get to level 60, will they have changed enough to make it a fun game to continue playing in the long run? That's what I'm hoping to see

Hey Jay great video. Today I spoke to several console players and they agreed that the aimlock is too much. One even said he would want them to completely remove aimlock or even aim assist. I think aim assist will be a lot better for the game. Just to help console players get closer to an enemy, and then they need to micro adjust with their joystick to actually aim, so skill will still be required. The fact some console players agreed with me, gives me some hope.

With a Re-release + fixed all those issues + complete fresh start with Jobbing (Gathering) resets each Season, so you cant lvl everything to max and be efficient. If this would happen, i would give it another try. But i dont think this would ever happen because it feels like, this Team doesnt know what rly matters.

Lockon is literal aimbot in pvp on close to mid range. The only thing I like about this game will be completly trash now. And this was the big difference in New World, too. i really don't think the lock on is going to be that bad of an issue. As it was showing to miss 100% of the time if the target was moving. You would have to run in a straight line which in that case you're asking to get shot. Everyone needs to chill out about it.

console players will be playing on a new server. They could go to the legacy servers if they want, but if you really want to play with console players, you will need to make a new character in the new servers.

As a pc player that uses m&k as well as controller im not sure why people are mad at the lock mechanic for controller. I’ve played many combat games with that feature and honestly it’s made the playing field pretty even just gotta get your dodge timing down

Well said, I have over 2000 hours on PC (M&K)..and while playing PS5 I had several melee attacks that went right through enemies that looked dead on target. The lock on fixed the issue. This will make PC and Console very competitive in PVP

Oh no Light Armor now feels like you´re wearing light armor and you can wiggle out of all melee attacks? Kinda sucks to suck I think :D I like the lock on for pvp because when I was playing no one was running heavy armor because you could wiggle out of every attack which really was frustrating.

I play on PC and do not have the expansion. I played the beta and enjoyed it, but I won't buy anything more until I get to high enough level on a new character to decide if I want to continue. I tried lock on in PvE and turned it off, as I found it annoying. I can hit stuff just fine. As others have mentioned, I'd pick the class you want based on the trade perks. The beginning gear is nice but getting a boost to mining or engineering or whatever seems more impactful to start.

The pvp Island won't work. I went there and killed players who got angry at me, which I get. It's going to be griefing zone and it will die. PvP needs to be structured, like opr/arenas, with progression objectives. Crazy AGS don't understand player behaviour

@DblTapSlapMcGap yeah, u get one shot by npc's, but you can ride the whole map and avoid and open a few chests. It's got a lot of terrain so pretty easy to avoid fights if you want and get out. Just play a run build Iike GS/H, GA/H or musket and it'll be easy

LOL There is absolutely nothing Amazon games could do to make me want to come play again.. They blew it they have no chance at all its still a half built game.. The game was supposed to be a pvp complete game Originally. Then changed to a hybrid of pve/pvp areas.. But none of the Game systems have ever been built to work as a full fleshed out pve game.. Sorry half ass game is not worth the frustration. Good luck!
