Again - I love this game, and just hope that it gets closer to the true potential it has...as it's been lacking for quite some time. Picked up the game a week or so ago, I'm already level 64 about to hit endgame content. If you want to level up, I can suggest playing the main quest. The lore of the game is pretty good and even closer to end of the story line there are so much more lore to unpack. I feel like I bearly scraped the tip of the iceberg. The visuals of the game is really good, sometimes I have to remind myself I'm playing an MMO and not a single player game. I also like the fact that you can abuse some of the old skyrim jank and jump up mountains, which is incentivised to gain ore and resources. That is also pretty fun, since you get to check if you can do the correct jumps to get to the resources. As for weapons, some are good in a group, some are good for aoe and some are good for 1v1. In general they are pretty balanced. Personally I like the hatchet, it can be a bit of everything. Ranged, aoe or 1v1, but because it's not the best for each of those things you do have to use a bit of strategy and footwork to fight other people in pvp. I'm also hitting the endgame content now to build gear, leveling to make good gear is separate to leveling to use good gear. You can tap the ingame market to trade and buy good gear or you can work up a way to gather rare resources and build your own somewhat custom gear.

They did a good job on a proper intro. I like the visuals of it and the vibe. Where was that effort when the pc version originally launched? that being said after about 500 hours in new world people are going to have the same issues as current pc players. But if your a new player you have alot to do for some time. It will be fun if you are new to the game. If your beyond that point you have little in the ways of content or reason to play anymore.

Your character will still be there, as long as you play on PC. If you plan on buying it for console, you need to start a new character. No cross-progress between systems

It’s the first beta for New World Aeternum. There has been a PC version for this game out for a few years, so it’s almost identical, but with a handful of updates and stuff for console support.

Does anyone know if you can turn the target lock off on consoles? From what they said in their dev update it sounded like you could, but as usual they dont communicate very well at times lol. I was not sure if you could only on PC, or both PC and Consoles. I havent found any console videos without the target lock. They did say something about adding aim assist so I really do assume you can, but TBH i would like to turn it off. I like the way it currently feels on PC. but this update look GREAT (despite what the "community" says.) I honestly think having a bigger player base in addition to what this update actually has will serve the game well. My wife is excited to try it out.

2000 hrs here on steam, New World is really ambitious game, top tier on my list and combat is the best thing. Sadly, devs forgot about us and started focusing on console. But since I'm a sucker, im also going to try it on console, my xbox is ready. 😂

They received a lot of specific feedback, had huge success at launch, then quickly lost retention. They revamped the main story quest, made it solo-friendly (if desired), added some end game content and a few other things. It’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of MMOs. Thanks for watching!

View it as a refresh of the game. There is only “New World: Aeternum” once launched. For pc players, as long as they have the last DLC, the wake up on launch day, load in, and it’s new world aeternum. For console, it’s a new game. New servers will be available that’s cross-platform. I would view it as basically a “rebrand” and a launch for the game on console. Lots of beginner-parts of the game updated with the launch.

No not really. obviously they will be higher level and have equipment, but there nothing stopping you from catching up. There are also going to be Fresh Start Severs where everyone on that server is brand new. So no one will be higher level and the Player Driven Economy will be fresh as well. In the game there is no NPC traders/stores. Every item in the game is either dropped by an enemy, in a chest, or crafted and sold/traded by a player. You can only sell items to other players or Salvage/Dismantle your unwanted items for other resources. It will be just fine for new players :)

The game is good but what breaks immersion for me is precisely the character creation, having a skinny little guy with a tremendous axe, huge hammer or shield and heavy armor doesn't fit at all... I remember in Aion a long time ago, I had created a fat beer-drinking Viking who used the giant axe, there was harmony in the aesthetics and my role. It is true that there are "imbalances" for example that they made the characters tiny so they could not be hit easy and that must be why this current balance trend with the characters all the same with the same hitbox, dull boring and "0" charisma but they could balance it by On the other hand, if you become a big fat guy like my old character in Aion, let him increase his dmg or HP and make him very TANK slow... and vice versa, intelligence for the little ones and let them be a glass... fast, magicians strong or special mounts can be used... or something like that you understand the idea, come on... that with certain physical characteristics related attributes rise and fall, (as in real life). In my opinion, a good appearance in 50% of the game, after all, it is an adventure of ours, and that they kill your immersion like this, it is sad this last decade in this section at the expense of the "balance"

Plus, all the PC players we told to wait and wait and wait for huge news, and the news was just console release, when they built up hype and teased actual new end game content, so people are mad they’ll still have very little to do on PC. If you’re console, you’re in a good spot.

Yes, lots of options for both. TONS of difficult expeditions for PvE, then multiple PvP options (open world, 20v20 OPR matches, 3v3 arenas, and even 50v50 wars over territories). Best of both worlds.

Combat is boring.....played for a couple year's and 3 skills per weapon gets real boring real quick, doesn't look like this has changed. Areas are cut and pasted so badly you can tell its the same areas.

@@Savvvo yea any side jumping will probably useless now if it stays like this. which i guess it what they want because they've slowly been taking the usefulness of movement away little by little over time. They keep changing how your character lands, and messing with the character slide when changing directions. To me this looks like one of those action rpg jumps where you always start the animation jumping forward and then are able to move in a direction after airborne. which is that's what we are getting... they just handicapped movement insanely.
