"Thank you to Jeff and all of the online instructors for helping us avoid misery. My brother and I were able to take advantage of this opportunity, even though my parents initially didn't think that online school was a legitimate option. Your teaching has made me feel confident that I can create good drawings if I just try, and it's been much better than the art school I've been attending, which focuses mainly on theory without much demonstration or presentation of portfolios. I just want to express my gratitude again. I will continue to work hard and keep pushing play."

Hey Jeff, so excited to see your buscema translation with David finch! I loved the two livestreams with Erik and buscema is one of my favourite comic book artists of that era. And as someone who has made it through 4 figure drawing phases, I'm super intrigued to see what the Proko course will be like.

Schedule a boot camp, and I will do everything I can to get there. Especially if it's later in the year and there's more time to plan for the expenses (attendance, traveling from Alabama to California, and so on). About six months ago, I actually talked to a friend about crashing at their place in San Diego in the event y'all brought the boot camps back!

Happy New Year Jeff! I’m fortunate to be able to signup for this opportunity. I already see a difference not only in my drawings but in my mind. I have a busy schedule and by taking the time to draw, it allows my mind to rest. Love this stuff and thanks for all you and your team does!

Serious question: What's the point of being an artist with AI art being a thing now
@cristianangheluta1532 Жыл бұрын
Art is a little bit more than pretty colours and lines. Meaning comes from the artist and its understanding of the world, it isn't (or shouldn't) be just craftsmanship, unless the craftsmanship is really well done, in which case AI art doesn't stand a chance. It might affect some people on the job market, however that's only affecting a certain type of art, or art that was made with a certain purpose, but not art for the purpose of art.
@solemaniharami3963 Жыл бұрын
@@cristianangheluta1532 the majority of common consumers that fund the art industry dont care and cant distinguish ai art from art made by a digital artist. I dont think AI 100% kills the industry, but a large majority of jobs will be cut out.

Why waste years learning to draw when AI is doing instantly and better? specially if art as a job will be even more devaluated and rare thanks to AI, less reason to take it serious
@johnnymarcedocl5395 Жыл бұрын
Then what else would we do? Creators won't stop being creators just because of AI. I couldn't live without drawing and painting. And we humans will always value more a work of art done by a fellow human than a robot. Of course it's demotivating, but honestly what won't be replaced by AI eventually? And about the job market, that depends on how the goverment regulates AI. Proko has a video on his channel about that.

Digital art maybe, but collectors like the texture of paint. They like the connection with the artist. The 1,000,000 decisions that had to be made and understanding how the life of the artist led them to place that one color value next the other. There will always be room for fine handmade objects. Might be harder, but most artists end up having a backup/side hustle like teaching or owning a business.

AI art is trained on human produced art. Without humans continuing to make art for AI to copy, AI becomes more and more self referential (I wonder what that will look like🤔) and no longer really representative of what we humans make and love. You’re right though, art jobs will certainly dry up and only people who can afford the time will make art for the joy of it.
