Happy New Year! Keeping a homestead, garden, family, and animals is a full time job. Those who truly don't live on a homestead, farm, or have a opportunity to experience what it takes to maintain the homestead, or farm truly doesn't understand the depth of work, and time it takes to get things done. Sometimes, I wish there were more hours in a day!!!!! I'm sorry to hear your family was sick for this Christmas. I hope y'all start feeling better. Please be careful with pneumonia if you think you have it. Pneumonia scares me since my sister several years ago had it, went to the doctor. She was put on antibiotics, didn't get better, went on stronger antibiotics, and thought she was fine because she felt good. She ended up being put in the hospital, had other issues develop. I can't wait to see y'all cut into the pork hanging from your ceiling from the kitchen. I'm sure it's going to be some mighty fine prosciutto!!

My grandbaby got it for Christmas , then her Pa Pa , now me . Thankfully we got through all the different family Christmas stuff before she started feeling down . Hope you all feel better soon . Sorry to hear that you guys were so sick. All 4 of my girls were sick with the flu during Christmas as well, so I feel your pain. It was horrible to see them so sick. Thanks for answering my question about the Squatch! I had my car sit at the mechanics only for 3 weeks but it's fixed now! My son had backed up over a short retaining wall and tore out the strut on the passenger rear wheel! I was told to junk it at the shop I had it towed to after he did that. I found another really busy guy that fixed it for me! It just took a few weeks. It feels really solid now and I even got the alignment checked at the dealership and it passed! He did a great job! Just a guy with his own garage at his home. He even towed it to his place from the original place I had it towed to. I'm so blessed! I wish you could have the same experience. Yay, cookbook! So exciting! I like this question and answer format. The plants are still green in the greenhouse. Yeah, my boys are 17 and 18 years old now. It went fast. My oldest son will be 40 this year! Thanks for this! That was fun to watch!

Is there any possibility you can lease the field from neighbors like the area up the hill from the driveway area so you have more grazing for the bovines? And would you ever consider sheep if you had more grazing area after this year? I for one, love watching Meg knit almost as much as the cooking! Knitting is SO cool & I think we saw you knit only once when you were outside fireside before Liliana was born!

I think work history is something to remind us more often because it always helps tell your story of success. Others seemingly want their public to make all their decisions. Meg, all 3 of my children live interstate, it's very hard when they are all so far away. Interesting Q & A, you could get a bee keeper to put some hives on your land and as they multiply you can add your own hives for them to move into. That'd help you learn the process from an expert.
