I can't speak to this model but I have a Yeswelder mma machine & it is phenomenal for the size/weight & current draw. I've welded professionally since I was a kid & still do - to date, having owned dozens of machines of all sizes/makes, it is my favorite mma(stick) welder ever. It's just faultless in what it does. It was also ridiculously cheap - unbelievably inexpensive - for the performance delivered. I couldn't recommend it any more highly for anyone thinking of buying a stick-welder. Yeswelder make damn good machines. No, they don't pay me/send me stuff - just in case anyone is wondering.

You seem like the guy to be asked questions about the yes welder firstess 200. So I have had one for 1.5 years. I have used it and loved it until this past weekend. I went to use it, and when I striked an arc, the machine shut off, but the fan still cycled off and on. The digital display went black as well. When I plug and restart, everything seemed to be working again until shrinking the arc, and then it shuts off again. Any suggestions? Do you think it could be fixed? Yes welder is sending me a new machine and told me to keep the old one. I can't complain about their warranty. I did upload a video on you tube under bmad164. Thank you.

@Trialnerror
@Trialnerror 2 жыл бұрын
No, that is a bit of an oversight on their part tbh. They did a good job of getting the speeds right and you can use slight variations in voltage to get the same effect but a separate control for feed speed would be a nice option.
@fiero11
@fiero11 2 жыл бұрын
I bought one of these to try just before the kickstarter came out for the Firstess 2050. I might have waited but this was a great deal since I primarily was wanting a mig welder and plasma cutter. The other features were a bonus and I loved the features. I am curious what compressor size and pressure works best for the plasma cutter. I have a typical 30 gal and 60 gallon home compressor, but it stated it needed a 15 CFM input to work well. Most compressors will not achieve that CFM unless they are industrial units. I do have a unit I am repairing that puts out 24 CFM with a 120 gallon tank that I got from an industrial plant, but I can not imagine that small airline holding up to the output of that compressor. It's a Saylor-Beall dual 2 stage unit.
@Trialnerror
@Trialnerror 2 жыл бұрын
From what I could see it looks like the built in compressor is really engineered for this purpose and only this purpose. It's high volume at the expense of pressure. You average home unit has low CFM because it also is expected to hit 120 - 175psi. This little guy has a big piston that moves a lot of air but only tops out around 60psi. In this case, that's perfect but you couldn't use it to drive a nail gun or an pneumatic impact gun.
@fiero11
@fiero11 2 жыл бұрын
@@Trialnerror Thank you so much for that information. The instruction manual had me confused and while my industrial duplex will easily supply the required air, I would have not thought to turn the pressure down to 50 or 60 psi to run the plasma cutter and I usually leave the unit at around 100 psi to run the majority of my air tools. Is there a small portable air compressor that can be used with the plasma cutter?
@ironsmith9769
@ironsmith9769 Жыл бұрын
@@fiero11 so long as you keep the line pressure above 58psi (72 is optimal) then you can cut. if the pressure drops too low, just stop cutting and wait for the compressor to catch up. a bigger tank can mean longer cuts but also more waiting between cuts. for my purposes i don't think there is a problem with a compressor that puts out 6.5 cfm. if it ever bothers me, i'll hook up a second compressor.
@fiero11
@fiero11 Жыл бұрын
@@ironsmith9769 Thanks for the info. I have a decent 30 gallon compressor, but I'm putting a 120 gallon dual pump 24 cfm compressor in the shop which should keep up with no issues. That info helps if I use it for remote locations.
