The highest occupied floor will be 305 meters, this means that almost 100 meters of potential height is unused. I find it interesting that so many skyscrapers have such low efficiency on how much of the building they use. Those floors would be great office-space with an incredible view.

It's a New York kinda thing lol I've born and raised here most of these structures..are 50 plus 60 plus floors with like the majority of the building not being used...in New York it's all about the image...simple..we feel as if we have a big reputation to keep up with for all people around the world...and that's just the way its always been...with as much space these buildings have they can allow homeless to live in there and give them building maintenance jobs...but that won't happen I can assure u

Vanderbilt is a great midtown East location. I cut through that street often. It can’t compete with Grand Central Terminal. There are several new towers going up in the neighborhood and a rather oddball high rise being built by the Turken foundation Tyyip Erdogan’s on 41st at 2nd Ave. It abuts one of the Tudor City buildings. They bought airspace from that building as well as 2 small city lots. It took them over a year to drill and carve out the building’s foundation. It is in the UN neighborhood. The project is not listed as one of NYC's approximately 5,000 “essential” construction projects. The Turkish consulate is also building another tower at 821 1st Ave. lots of major building projects all over including Hudson Yards and the recently opened The Edge observation point that looks directly at the Empire State Building. It will cost $36 a ticket to go to their glass observation deck. When you stand in Bryant Park the vista has totally changed as has the Westside by Javits. At night it really looks futuristic. Other than Erdogan’s buildings new condos in these areas start at about $3.6 million. The city always seemed small and manageable to me but all the new buildings add and detract from the livability and beauty of old NYC.
