I have literally based my entire content strategy off staying monetized. I started out almost 10 years ago wanting to be an e-cigarette influencer. I saw the steps KZbin was taking to bring those channels to a grinding halt, so I stopped uploading. Two months later I started doing small tech videos. This has been a journey that I have really enjoyed and has made me such a grateful hard-working person. I'm so happy to continue this journey and keep pushing for the stars. ❤

do you really think thats what they as a business want? lets be honest. This was to slow it down and stop payments. They see places teach how to gain the system and as a business they are going to play that game too to stop it. It may be called a partnership program but its not. We just have to pivot and get better always because this wasn't the first.... you think it'll be the last? Do you think any business would make it easier to give you money? Do you think our ads bring them that much when other businesses are cutting too? It's just a thing that you are lucky that's all they are doing honestly for now

I got demonetized recently for reused content. There was no explanation of what it actually was. Never received a warning or a strike. I appealed and lost the appeal because I didn’t show enough of visual examples of my filming, editing and creative process. Now I have to reapply for monetization again. I had pivoted in focusing more on Shorts and when I got a spike in subscribers that’s when I got the violation of reused content. Was that a coincidence? I don’t have to start over as to the number of subscribers but the standard hours or 10 million views in 90 days. Fortunately for me I retired with multiple streams of income and not relying on YT only. But that burst my bubble when I was feeling the Shorts excitement. Well, it is what it is now and it feels like starting over to a degree.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this new rollout. KZbin made it so incredibly difficult to search for, down to the last character. That should concern you. They didn't want this information to be easily found on the viewer side, nor explained by it's creators and how it will affect them. YT is hamstringing free speech in exchange for creators' profits, hemming out those creators who "underperform" in terms of ad revenue because they have chosen to produce content in their own way, regardless of ADs. YT still allows phishing ads on their platform, clear evidence that it is about the money and not a way for people to share their ideas. KZbin forgets that during the first ever KZbin Awards, they asked their poster child for free speech, Bo Burnham, to write a song that he would perform live at the awards. It's called "Welcome to KZbin," and the very last line is, "...it will keep on going and it will never stop, until it's privatized." He knew how this was going to end up for creators at 16. As a private company that controls who gets to advertise on the platform, it can now have an unlimited workhorse that it can fully control. This yellow icon thing works in YT's favor because they can strike channels that they don't agree with and channels that aren't raking in a hidden baseline for profits. They do not care about their creators, especially established ones. It never changes. It's not about the creator's profits. It's about the profit from advertisers that pay youtube off the BACKS of its creators. It's sickening. This is why the "older YT creators" started their goodbyes many, many MONTHS ago or created their own streaming services. YT is a shill and a sellout. I recommend the viewers come together to support creativity in all of it's forms, not just the ones who bring very little to the table in terms of legitament information, outstanding creativity, and in support of all creator's 1st amendment right, regardless of ADVERTISERS wishes. If they can't do that, we need to let YT fade away to feast on its own destruction. When a youtube creator says this is how I make my living, don't begrudge them that. There are no jobs out here in the physical workforce. If any of you escape for a few minutes to watch your favorite creators just to make it through another day, understand that the good ones are going to be weeded out and if you have a job that isn't being a part or full time creator, those creators who get banned are going to go where? Do what? No one is hiring. There are no jobs. Have some selflessness and let's figure out a way to push back at this. Because it's not right. It's as far from right, good, and honest as you can get. Roberto, they left that helpful feedback out on purpose. They haven't had a problem providing it until now. Really stop and ask WHY.

I was recently taken off monetization and appealed only because the reason was so vague and not specific as to which video or otherwise. Now I have to guess, and possibly remove content unnecessarily. It would be nice if we could feel like an actual person is providing the feedback with a little more detailed explanation than a list of possibilities. Very frustrating.

I agree, I had a video with nearly 200 views before I found out I had a copyright claim preventing monetization. It would have been better if they wouldve waited until we could find out first

Also, I have the weirdest copyright issue: cover of a Black Sabbath song is identified as... ahem... Frosty The Snowman by KZbin's content ID. I don't want to appeal this and end up with a strike on my channel (I've had none in the whole 5 years of this channel). Any idea how to handle this?

I honestly just wish they are specific when they say "you cant be monetize because 1 or someone if ur video violate the monetisation policy" BRUH WHICH VIDEO EXACTLY ??? If you delete videos you delete their watch time. And best way to get monetize is to use 0 footage from anyone else and use 100% original footage

I think it is convoluted because they don't have the bandwidth for human reviewers at scale to make the accurate notes required. Maybe the AI isn't getting it accurate enough to roll out at scale?

It sounds like they wanted to say "See! We did a thing!" but weren't really understanding what was requested. It should have been rolled out to larger creators who were willing to partake, and KZbin Specific creators because they tend to have the full understanding of the stats. Then medium creators who are growing should have their say of things. Then a few smaller creators that show promise. Then phased out to everyone. I imagine the things that would be asked for in the feature would granulate it down nicely with that. It probably would have also lead to what you suggest the feature should have.

To me, I don't agree with KZbin. I think this new update can burnout the KZbin employees out very badly. if KZbin staff keeps on doing this every single time to billions of content creators. on the other hand, if I am Monetize I would never ever ask KZbin why my videos keeps on getting demonitize doing this. will make me feel so uncomfortable about everything. I feel like doing this is really annoying the people that works at KZbin.

Yeah, this isn't great. IDK how many channels are affected by this but I'm sure it's several thousands so I'd expect a long wait time. So it's like why bother. Most videos see dropped views within days. There has to be a set list of things for the system to detect. So why can't the system say limited views because ( violation) . Allowing fixing if it has to do with the title, description, thumbnail it tags or corrections and reuploading for anything else. Shouldn't be here since the system is detecting the problem already. I doubt most are affected by people sharing the video on a view warning website. That's the only thing creators won't be able to fix.

I think KZbin is a business. They want to make money and I think all their algorithms are focused on doing that rather than helping us creators. They don’t have a lot of competition (at least that is a lot like them) so their interest in making all of us happy and paying us more is not their priority. Bottom line.

My content is in Arabic, but I want to switch to English as I have changed my target audience and avatar completely. My channel is for promoting my online fitness coaching business. I will post the same type of content but in English. What would you recommend: rebranding or starting a new channel? I think if I rebrand, I may not get any views as the CTR will probably drop, and that can affect my growth potential. Thank you 🙏
