Don't forget, most filtered water removes the minerals. Adding a big pinch of pink Himalayan Crystal salt is a great option, doesn't weigh much & helps with the taste. Scan all of your precious pictures & documents *now* into secure internet storage/cloud. Take video of your house, vehicles, outbuildings & farm animals. Add this into your internet storage, too. *Also burn a few CD's of everything & share with others (backup your backups 😊) 💞~👵

If I'm forced to leave from some sort of natural disaster, I'm thinking I would shut off gas, water and electric at the meters/supply points. Those three things would cover it all and I wouldn't have to worry about missing anything like the "out of sight/out of mind" water heater.

EVACUATION SHOULD BE YOUR "LAST OPTION". Those who opt to "bug out" will forego established SHELTER against the elements, a large FOOD & WATER STOCKPILE, and FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS. Living in Florida, we have seen several mass evacuations for hurricanes turn into CHAOS, with thousands stuck in endless traffic jams on major highways - often running out of gas, and realizing they have NOWHERE to go - as motels & campgrounds rapidly fill up.

...doing it... organized all that I currently have and have perused the stores to see what I might find there. Definitely need to figure out that HOW TO GET OUT OF HERE. Last month after I left Portland Oregon the fires broke out and people got near stranded as there just were not roads to escape the state and people had to gather in the capital, Salem and just sit out the smoke and suffered lung damage. Terrible. So, maps, more water stock, and some serious iodine/iodide whichever is the right one... still learning.

Any time you go on a vacation you notify your card company so they are aware of your plan. Your cards won't be denied. In the phone call your plans to return are important

Love 💕 your mindful approach. Compartmentalized categories that anyone can tackle. Only suggestion is to practice the grab - pack situation. Make it a competition for the adults Who gets everything in the vehicle the fastest, with the least stress Who forgot to put the baby in the 🚙 Who notices that the xxx bag was missing from the closet Reward with a trip to the local ice cream parlor Go home and debrief for continual improvement

While you can't pack your child's favorite cuddlie in advance, you might pack their second favorite. Just in case you can't grab the favorite on your way out, the back up cuddlie would be very much better than nothing.

Add tsunami to your list as a subset to earthquake. After yesterday’s M7.5 quake near Sand Point, Alaska my friend near Anchorage (almost 800 miles away) got a cellphone alert to get higher than 100 feet in elevation in case of tsunami.
