This rescue of our first newborn for the year 2024 at Pelican Point has already taken place in February. A little baby seal had just been born about 8 weeks ago, and he was already entangled in ocean rubbish. His life just started, and it was already about to end. Especially young seals are curious and playful, and they go through exponential growth at this time in their lives. Even a loose loop of fishing line or packing strap quickly turns into a fatal trap. There is simply no escape from plastic anymore.
