You could name your next baby and call her Genevieve if it is a girl because it is a beautiful name meaning God's blessing in French and it would suit the name of your baby or Christian if it is a boy because it means follower of Christ and it would also suit. What do you think.

The best tip I received as far as breast feeding is using your milk as your nip ointment. I NEVER had sore, cracked, dry, etc. Nips when my daughter was breast feeding because if this. I did in-between feedings and really just anytime I thought about it. It was totally a game changer for me as far as breastfeeding. My first baby had me all tore up and it got to the point that even my shirt touching my nips it would cause so much pain. So use your milk as your ointment and do it as often as you can in the beginning of your breastfeeding journey!

I love this, Thank you! A family member is purchasing silverettes for me and I know part of what makes silverettes work is that it uses your breast milk to heal your nipples. I'm currently 40 weeks, 1 day today with my first and I'm planning on breastfeeding so learning all that I can right now. I just love that our own breast milk that we naturally produce can help us out so much, like that's so freaking cool. God knew what He was doing❤

It’s actually not that babies only see in black/white/gray, it’s that babies eyesight is developed to hyper focus on stark contrasts. For example, the dark areola compared to lighter colored skin is a stark contrast that babies recognize and are attracted to :)

@brib39672 жыл бұрын
So glad someone already mentioned this because I hear parents ALL THE TIME say that “newborn babies can’t see in color” 🤣😂😂 which is completely false!!! They are not born color blind lol, they can just recognize high contrasting images more clearly because their vision is BLURRED. It’s the same if someone with glasses were to take them off then look at a bright and colorful picture vs a high contrasting image. Obviously they would be able to see the black and white print more clearly. I do agree though that most baby products on the market are extremely overstimulating, even to older babies, with all the flashy & shiny bright colored toys/attachments. The world is new enough for them to be easily captivated & occupied just observing their natural surroundings!

Hey! Just a note - the nested bean sacks aren’t considered safe by the AAP. increased SIDS risk etc. ❤ really wanted to try but found this out before I bought them.
@Hope-ot1xy5 ай бұрын
Also, AAP recommends against using weighted swaddles and blankets. These can cause pressure on baby’s lungs and make it harder to take deep breaths. They can cause harm and even death. Don’t use!!

Nice list! Here's what we use most: - haaka - nipple cream (earth mama worked great, don't need to whipe it off) - reusable nursing pads. HATED the single use ones. - zipper sleepers - stretchy blankets swaddles or the nested bean newborn zipper swaddle (HATED velcro swaddles as baby likes his hands up) - avent soothies (recommended for breastfeeding moms as the succion most resembles a nipple 🤷🏻♀️ no clue if that's correct or really matters) - copper pearl hat! They stay on the best - A+D diaper cream to prevent terrible rashes - also started with Pampers pure, loved them! Now using rascal and friends. - hatch sound machine + portable sound machine for on the go - burp cloths (we use Muslin cotton ones but I think any would do) - bath thermometer! Actually used it all the time at first until I felt comfortable what tempeture was good. - playmat (lovevery works great for us)

Every thermometer that has the neck on it can be used in the armpit. You just add a degree to get the correct temperature for what it would be orally I.e. if the armpit reads 96.0 degrees babies temp is really 97.0 degrees

You should try the Bonds brand sleepers. They have the fold over feet so that you can choose to have their feet covered or not. They are also zippered. As for my must haves, after 3 reflux babies I can't live without carriers. I haven't ever used a pram, instead I use a combination of ring slings for the newborn stage and quick trips for toddlers, a manduca for long treks and for carrying tired kiddos when they are preschool age, and woven wraps from newborn up. All the benefits of the solly wrap but way more supportive and not going to sag over time. I love electric baby nail files, back pack style nappy bag, the vava light from Amazon, the snot sucker and a play mat

Definitely look into Frigg instead of Bibs pacifiers because Bibs needs to be thrown out after a few weeks of use. My baby girl started on Bibs but I made the switch to Frigg because of all the MOLD issues with Bibs!!! They look almost identical and it’s an easy switch your babe won’t notice!! Research the issues with Bibs!! Also, my girl is 13 months and still uses the 0-6m size. I find the larger size is just way too big!!

Please consider that baby bjorn is not a good carrier for a newborn, it's not the good carrier at all (it's to inflexible and straightens baby's back, which should be genly curve). Basically carriers should be forbidden for newborns. Sling is best for newborns and it's worth to learn how to wrap it, it's also cheaper option. Carrier is best when child is sitting on it's own or at least is holding it's own head. Please never buy a carrier in which baby is facing the world, it'll harm your baby. The best carriers are the ergonomic ones (with elastic, material back and adjustable sitting area from knee to knee).
