8:00 If you think back to Sleepytime and The Show, we know that Bluey is a rainbow baby. Perhaps the reason they hadn't removed the nursery is because they were hoping to be able to use it for that purpose again, but have now accepted that it isn't going to happen - possibly prompted by Bingo's 5th birthday.

In the previous episode (Aussie order), Bandit's having a conversation with another dad about vasectomies (this was changed for the Disney airing). Then in the next episode, they're taking apart the nursery. So this appears to be a decision he and Chili reached after a long time to think.

Quick spoiler-free point of order/warning here. You guys know about the behemoth (comparatively) that is The Sign, the second to last episode. But the last three episodes MUST be watched in order, Ghostbasket->The Sign->Surprise. Ghostbasket directly sets up a plot point in The Sign and if you watch Surprise there may be... stuff... that confuses you if you haven't seen The Sign. It goes beyond the previous episodes that were sequels (Early Baby->Mums and Dads, Duck Cake->Handstand). Just in case you think you can skip around The Sign to keep 4 or so episodes to a video. I'd hate for you guys to miss out or have things spoiled/revealed to you by the show itself.

Sometimes, the moments that affect kids the most and encourage change is when you as a parent can put aside your self and interests to see when it’s a good time to connect with the kids. Ie. Bandit’s meltdown with Duck Cake, and Bingo’s need for patience from her parents to be included in on special moments like Mother’s Day, and Bandit’s birthday. Bluey can already be trusted with “big kids” tasks, now is the adjustment to support snd guide Bingo for her “big kids” moments.😊

Okay. Theory. Hear me out. In season 1, Bandit and Chilli seem like 100% perfect parents. They always have time for the kids' games and chaos, and like these guys say..... COMMIT TO THE BIT. I've seen a lot of parents online, and my own friends with young kids say that they feel Bandit and Chilli set an unrealistic standard for parenting. But....... Season 1 focuses nearly 100% on the kids and their adventures, so we're seeing the parents through their eyes. As we get further into Bluey, we are focussing and more on the parents and their lives, albeit slightly in the background because, after all, this is a show about Bluey and Bingo, not Bandit and Chilli (although I'd watch the shit out of a Bandit and Chilli show that is all the Bluey show, but just from the parents' point of view and what they're doing when they're not playing the games). Anyway, as we see more of Bandit and Chilli and the Heelers' everyday life, Bandit and Chilli are having more "realistic" reactions, boundaries and general cock ups. I think this mirrors real life, when we meet people for the first time, and they seem perfect and 100% on top of everything. But as we get to know them better, we see through and beyond the surface level into the real them. TL;DR Bandit and Chilli get more realistic at the show goes on, and we need effectively a "Midnight Sun", but in the Bluey-verse, so the whole show, but it's Bandit and Chilli PS Absolutely love you guys and you help me watch and digest my Bluey viewings at a reasonable rate!

Yes yes yesss please fund libraries, always vote for libraries. Recently I took my kindergartner to the library after school and she went straight to the craft table. There was another little girl there and they sat together for like five minutes, before my daughter said “hey Layla.” 😂 I said “do you know each other?” And she said “we’re classmates.” They spent the rest of the time at the library doing crafts and looking at books together. It was so awesome.
@Schu00862 күн бұрын
Also did you know libraries have notaries? Many have social service outreach there. Job search services. Many have passport services etc. They are incredible untapped resources right now, always fund them. And if you’re stressing over getting something done at a government office or the post office, check first and see if a local library might offer the same service with less stressful waiting, where you might be able to make a sticker wreath on a paper plate cutout. It’s really and truly possible.

When it comes to the timeline of Bluey, we know a year has passed as both Christmas episodes were separate Christmas Days (remember that Socks went from walking on all fours one Christmas to walking upright the second) and Bingo is officially 5 (which means Bluey might be turning 7 this season...). The episodes themselves actually do go in an order of some sort as some episodes do start becoming canon events before others (with occasional exceptions assuming that Bluey and Chloe playing Princesses happens the same day Jack meets Rusty to play Army). Also...there are technically two ending episodes of Season 3. The half-hour episode "The Sign" is the main one but there is a smaller episode called "Surprise" that was released after and is technically the official ending of Season 3.

Yes. Time moves in Bluey. They aren't like Bart Simpson or Ash Ketchum who stay 10 forever. The episode Duck Cake is literally Bingo's birthday and in the future episode-trio at the end of the season we learn of something new that Bluey can do now because she's older.

Being inbetween you guys age-wise, I absolutely remember the rope climb to the ceiling of the gym, and the paper thin tumbling mat that was supposed to save you if you fell.
@CalliopePony3 күн бұрын
It's been hinted that the reason for the nursery being cleaned out without a definite purpose (and Chilli getting emotional over it) is that Chilli was hoping to have a third child and finally gave up on it happening. Time passes at a reasonably steady rate in the show. When the show started Bluey was 6 and Bingo was 4. Bingo had a birthday in "Handstand" so she is now 5. Bluey will have a birthday later this season and will be 7. I did the rope climb in school in the early 2000s, so it was still in use in some places. I didn't do well on the regular rope because I had a hard time keeping my grip, but the gym also had a rope that had knots tied in it every few feet to make it bumpy, and I could climb the knotted rope all the way to the top. On the subject of whether or not to go easy on kids in competition, there are points to be made on both sides of the argument, and I think it's one of those things that needs to be case-by-case. Sometimes kids need the win for encouragement; other times they need the incentive to work harder. Last summer I was helping my nephew on the big jungle gym at the playground. He got most of the way up and suddenly froze, and he said he was scared. I told him that I PROMISED I wouldn't let him fall. He unfroze and was able to keep climbing. Building that trust is important. When I use eggs I alternate which side I take them from so the carton stays balanced. Also, when baking with my nephews I've found it works well to say "I'll put the ingredients in the bowl while you stir." They have a job to do, and it makes less mess. DUCK CAKE! LET'S GO! There are brown ducks, so chocolate frosting can work.

Something you may not know because you're watching the US version of the episodes: in Perfect, Bandit is talking to Fido, and the implication of the conversation is that he's thinking about getting a vacectomy. Disney didn't think the conversation was subtle enough, so they changed it for their episodes. However, with the conversation and now the nursary getting taken down, it's easy to assume that Bandit got his vasectomy and there won't be any more puppies in the house.

Ultimately I think the show itself exists in a sort of twilight state where most of these episodes could have happened within the age range of 6-8 and 4-6, but I’m hoping that *if* there is a full season 4 and *if* Joe Brumm excludes himself from that because he feels he’s moved past the organic time to create stories about this age range (as his own children age), I hope he’ll pop back in every now and again with a story about Bluey and Bingo aged 10-13 and 8-11 because it would be sooooo great to see more moments from these sweet characters as they get older. When Jay said that sometimes the show makes him glad that Adam doesn't have any kids, I immediately said out loud "Not as often as Adam thinks it!". This reaction was so fun - I loved the rope climbing story and Jay talking about how siblings can be best friends. I am the oldest of 6 kids from both my parents (who are divorced and both remarried - I am their only bio kid together). I love my siblings but the one who is my best friend is 12 years younger than me, it's pretty special. My son is an only child and has asked for a sibling over the years, but then I let him hang out with one of his younger cousins for a few hours and he withdraws his request! This show really gets you in the feels, especially the end of Promises. Omelette is so stressful for me - before I had my son I was definitely more like Adam (and still can be sometimes) but I found some extra stores of patience and a willingness to get out of my comfort zone a lot more than I expected. My son is 10 now and I am actually enjoying teaching him how to "life" from making meals, to cleaning our home, to loading the dishwasher "the right way". We're starting talks about finances next. Parenting is so complex (see also, Obstacle Course) but if we just try our best, things usually turn out pretty good. Thanks Jay! Thanks Adam! Hooray! I also feel like the episodes are even somehow more complex and layered. I was recently looking at a 80-100 year old book series I have where one of the illustrated pages had the caption “The rope slipped with such rapidity that it took all the skin from the inside of their hands”. And now I think of Adam’s school carnival

Yeah, what the hell were people thinking with those gym ropes? Not sure if this was a universal feature, but my school offered a choice between the ropes and wooden poles. I assume it was an alternative specifically there for people worried about rope burn, but also… splinters are A Thing, so the poles had to be thoroughly shellacked, which just meant they were slippery. It was arguably _more_ dangerous.

Oh I have been so waiting for the Omelette episode, knowing how Adam was gonna react. loooool I know Adam can build a Duck Cake, but a part of me REALLY doesn't want him to build a Duck Cake LOL

Normally, Jay's reaction, is what I watch closely for. When I saw that omelets was in today's roster, I knew it was Adam's seething reaction I was looking for cuz I had the exact same. Lol 😂

Everyone has aged a year so far. Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin had their birthdays in episodes, and Socks is now a toddler that can talk and walk upright.

I knew Adam was gonna lose his mind on Omelette 🤣

I remember we had those roles in elementary school, they only let us climb up halfway but it didn't stop kids from doing it when the gym teacher wasn't paying attention. I wasn't one of those kids though. When it was my turn to climb I only climbed up halfway and as I was climbing back down I FELL OFF THE ROPE, MISSED THE MAT AND LANDED STRAIGHT ON MY BACK! After gym class was over I told my teacher my back hurt and she ignored me. I kept telling her I was in pain all day and even tried to tell her what happened and she wouldn't listen. Finally some other kid told her I tell off the rope and she was like "Fiiiiine, I'll call your mom". My mom came to pick me up but the teacher only told her that I said my back hurt so my mom was like " Oh, they're fine, probably just constipated." And when I tried to tell my mom what happened she wouldn't listen to me, I was just forced to drink prune juice mixed with milk of mag when I got home. That was the first and only time I ever climbed that rope, whenever they brought it out I would always just refuse

I'm sure I'm not only one to point this out but with this season disneys order and censorship has semi major effect. As episode Perfect should be before Bedroom, As in perfect it's pretty clearly implied that Bandit thinks of getting fixed and the option of having more kids. In bedroom, them throwing out the baby stuff and emptying the room seems to confirm that Bandit went through it.

watching Adam have a full-on meltdown during Omelette was expected, and so freaking hilarious to watch, especially Jay's reaction to Adam's reaction. I'm saying this now: Preview'd is the best Bluey reaction channel. period. 🤩

Loved this episode! I always enjoy your reactions, guys 😂 Btw, Jay, I also have a son that’s 18 mos (born in June); I feel like I can relate to you (and your wife) so much 😊if you ever wanna exchange parenting tips, I’d be happy to oblige 👍🏼 Adam, you are like the best person anyone could have as a friend/uncle. Don’t ever change, my friend 🎉

Adding onto do NOT skip over the big episode to the last episode because there WILL be spoilers. And yeah, I remember those ropes in gym, and I also wonder what they were thinking. I was awful at climbing the rope so I never got more than a couple feet off the ground.

omg, me going "dona eis requiem" before the clip came in ahahahahhaha oh dear, do not think a 2 year old wont kick your ass at that memory game cause they will. You will need all your focus and might to tie with them XDDD my sis used to kick everyone's ass in the house, even mine and i'm only 2 years older, and now her daughter has been kicking ass for 5 years XDD

I'm pretty sure Chilie was still figuring out if she was going to try for another child or not before they cleared the nursary. One conversation with the other dad at the park that Dosney+ changed kind of implied it too (It also suggested dog jokes in a rally hinted wayvabout more or less Bandit was ready to do that surgery but Chile wasnt sure). As you saw already it was hinted that Chile probably had one or two pregnancies that didn't work too so it likely made it kind if a trickier topic. Hense her being a bit sad that the nursery wouldn't belong to anyone anymore.
