Maybe Ned's promise to Lyanna was to tell Jon about his parentage when the time was right, so he would have his birthright. The broken promises could be that one and when he tells Jon next time they meet he'll tell him about his mother. Love your vids, btw!

(From what I gathered reading the books) I believe the reason Roose Bolton had almost no regard for his own men in the Battle of the Green Fork, was due to the fact that most of the men he commanded were lower vassal levies, plus a few major houses, If I recall correctly, Robb gave Roose command of the portion of his force mostly comprised of foot soldiers. Meaning that the reason Roose had no interest in preserving his men's lives was because he already had some notion of betraying Robb, and saw these loyal Stark bannermen as fodder. Btw anyone who has memorised this chapter well enough, feel free to correct anything I said.

My theory is we didn't find out who the leader of the Harpy's was is because GRRM wants to save it for the book. If the show gives away everything, he sells fewer books. He already gave us Hodor and Jon's mother. There's got to be some surprises left for the book to surprise.

The irony of Sansa withholding information from Jon about the Knights of the Vale is it turned out to be the best tactic. He really did lure out Ramsay and outflank him. He just didn't do it alone. It also sets up a powerful understanding of the forces of family. Family members clash, they argue, they don't trust each other, they have their own personal agendas. But in some weird way, they still protect each other against enemies in a mystic sort of organization. Important to remember this as Arya and Bran come back into the fold.

Liquid fire (Greek fire) wasn't created by Romans. Byzantium started as part of the Roman empire but it ended up being something completely separate. A deferent empire!! the religion was Christian orthodox and it was a big part of it. it was there that Christianity started to become so strong. And the people and emperors of Byzantium were Greeks!!! It has an amazing history (a lot of plotting,wars and other interesting stuff). It would make a good TV show is what I'm saying!

The Byzantine Empire considered itself to be the Roman Empire and it´s people called themselves Romans (as did the Greeks until the 19th century). It was basically what used to be the East Roman Empire and when the West Roman Empire collapsed, they were the entire Roman Empire. And both East and West Rome considered themselves to be a single Empire, not two different once. Byzantinum, East and West Rome are terms we use today but weren´t used back in the day. Byzantinum was called Constantinople back than and was name after Constantine the Great (who actually had named it Nova Roma when he made it the capital of the Empire) The Christian Faith had already became the Roman state religion in the early 4th century when said Constantine became Emperor of the still united Empire.

We call them deferent names now because they had a lot of deferences. My point was that when the word Roman is said people who don't know this part of history ( and probably the guys in the video too) assume something else. If we Google Roman empire we'll see Julius Caesar and things like that but Byzantium was not like that!

Fun fact: Alexander Siddig who plays Doran Martell in thrones plays Hannibal Barca in the film Hannibal Romes worst nightmare. The battle of Cannae replayed on the Roman forces surounding themselves, they pushed into the Carthaginian who gave ground, while the more expiernece soldier who made up the flanks held there's, Ramsey just surrounds Jon.

Rewatching some of these breakdowns in reverse order today. The shot of Sansa walking away from Ramsay as the dogs attack (with a slight smile on her face) is very much like the shot of Cersei walking away from the cell where Septa Unella is left with zombie mountain in the next episode. I think this speaks in a way not just to what Sansa has learned from Littlefield about the Game but Cersei also. Nice touch by the director of both episodes.
