I could see Meruem reflexively killing Knuckle and Meleoron with his tail when Knuckle punches Meruem. Then it's just a confused Meruem standing over two corpses as a post-mortem APR slowly bankrupts him. Not a exactly a win, but definitely a big help to anyone else that wants to give it a go.

The "what if" team that could have possibly killed Mereum outright would have been Knov + Meleoron. If Knov didn't get hit with the PTSD of Pitou's En, his "teleport your head off your shoulders" move plus Meleoron's invisibility would have been a game ender in one go.

Even without nen, Meruem's body is naturally stronger than a human's. Even with nen protection, I don't think Knuckle could run away from Meruem, let alone survive a single blow from him.

No, that's cap. Meruem never developed hatsu or anything, but he uses nen to envelop his body and fight. We can see him use ten/ren in multiple manga panels as well as anime scenes. If Knuckle uses KO on a meruem with no nen it will kill him, or at the least it will deal serious damage.

The problem is that if you push the King into a corner he will be forced to develop a Hatsu and it will just counter whatever he's facing. Even if he runs into trouble with APR he could just develop a technique to do nen exorcism.

The first Dispelling nen ability was a conjurer ability too - not specialist. Meruem can also develop a specialist ability - it's not impossible to get one later in life.

He's so strong he can one shot basically anything, and durable enough to effortlessly tank Netero, a GOAT hunter and one of the strongest of all time. Meruem didn't even unleash his full potential. He may have developed a hatsu if given more time. And that is why he needed to be assassinated ASAP

But CAN Nanika one shot Meruem? Thing is, if the kind of creature Nanika is was some all-power wish granting creature, they'd probably not be listed as a threat in a list of presumably equatible terrors. It'd be THE terror. Idk if it's limitless. Humans are relatively weak and the consequences of actions could be reversed enough to save his life, but Gon STILL lost his nen... I think that alone implies there's a kind of limit, because Gon couldn't be healed fully back to normal. Meruem is almost undeniably the strongest we've seen in the story, and I feel like there may be an almost a way of rationalizing that if Gon "might even sink his fangs into the king" in adult form, as Pitou said, and Nanika couldn't even fully reverse the consequences of that power, perhaps killing Meruem IS beyond the realm of possibility for Nanika. Because in my opinion, adult Gon might've been closer to the Meruem Pitou knew, but post-rose Meruem was a whole 'nother monster. I honestly want to think he was beyond some "instant win" button.

Do you think Nanika would make request to someone if she was hidden by Meleoron using God's Accomplice? According to rules about Nanika wishes she won't make request to the last person she made requests to or if she doesn't know their name so if she doesn't know Meleoron's name or he was the last person she made requests to and then Meleoron takes her to one of Meruem's royal guards using God's Accomplice to keep them hidden and tells Nanika their names then Nanika makes several requests to one of them and because they ignore her requests they fail and when some fails they die and the person they care about most also dies and we know the most important person to the royal guards is king Meruem.

I think that might work, because unlike killing them randomly just "cuz someone wished it" this kind of instant kill is far more conditional and is basically a potentially unbeatable strategy. That said, it depends on a few things... in my comment, I assumed it's a power Nanika exerts, likely intertwined with nen that she uses to kill or grant wishes... I'm THINKING the death by requests works differently than a "kill" wish. I'm thinking it probably works more like nen conditions, which basically just work like cause and effect. Nanika can't even undo the basic condition Gon faced, which was forfeiting his nen, she just saved his life. So, to go into a bit of headcanon, the "Codependence of Desire" used to describe Ai might be a form of basic nen contract... nen might also be far more of a pervasive natural force in the world than we understand if that's the case... like, by wishing, you form a contract that makes it to where there's a price you'll need to pay. Maybe the Ai don't even need to tell you or imply that, but it just works. I guess the process of nearly any wish is the ignorance of not knowing there'll be a price maybe? In any case, if it's like a nen contract, and nen contracts work like causality, then I think your idea works, because it's relying on some natural force that carries out nen (this force could also explain post-mortem nen)... tbh if this worked, it'd likely mean that Nanika's wishes work the same way, meaning she COULD kill Meruem... so maybe the Ai are just physical beings that have an inherent ability to force a nen contract with other living beings and are naturally attuned to making things happen through some natural force that carries out the functions of Nen abilities... ... and if that rant was confusing asf, I'm a dumbass, and if it were true, Togashi would probably come up with an explanation... mostly less convoluted xD

Nanika could fulfill a wish to kill Meruem, but the cost in lives would be insane. Heck, it might kill the whole human race. Remember the rules of the ability. Killua could potentially command Nanika to do it, but I don’t think that occurred to him maybe until they were already in the thick of things. They didn’t realize how strong the ants were until Kite was already defeated. Gon wouldn’t leave after that, and Killua didn’t want to leave Gon. Not to mention they had to defeat knuckle and shoot in 30 days. He maybe also just didn’t want to reveal that he could abuse Nanika’s ability to his family. He only used Nanika when it was absolutely necessary to save Gon. So there’s a few good reasons why he didn’t use Nanika.

Yeah, the clear choice is Knov + Meleoron. _(using Scream)_ But even that is more complicated than it looks. Chimera ants can survive after being cut in two. And Meruem is an Emitter. So, it's possible that his decapitated head could pull a Majin Buu and escape the dimension it's sent to by teleporting.

Hakurai takes a physical form so it makes sense people even hit it plus it also stays even when your out of range even though it does work. Plus knov has to conjure the space only once for it work due type being used and emission would be cheaper since he would regained his aura.

Weird. I thought conjurers could physically create inanimate objects to which they give different kinds of effects on them. Kinda like gears/equipment in MMORPGs which have slots for gems to give them different attributes. While emitters can use their aura to manifest soul-like creatures like pets with different skills and personalities of their own.

And Conjurers have to be touching / near their Nen Constructs to avoid using Emission, thus losing power. How is Conjuration _not_ just a worse version of Emission? I have no damn clue. Conjurers can impose rules, but so can Manipulation, which is easy for Emitters.

The problem with Phinks is that the power of his attack is limited to the Nen that his body can generate. After a certain point it will reach a limit and it doesn't scale infinitely. Even if Meruem didn't dodge, he just has to focus enough Nen at the location of Phink's attack in order to survive it. Maybe Phinks could make a life pact like Gon did, to get more Nen, but he's also an adult so accessing his future potential will likely have diminished results.

Nah, the rules of APR state that it can be paid back by dealing a blow of equal aura units, which Meruem would easily do. Anyway, the zetsu is only enforced for a month. Post mortem nen is powerful, but that doesn’t mean it can just break the conditions of your hatsu. Otherwise everyone would be too afraid to ever kill anyone because of potential random consequences.

I don't think Meruem would be stronger then a human Nen-user, any human nen-user, as strong as his body could be, he would be restricted by physics, and there is just that much space for muscles and such. Yes, we did see Gon and Killua and a lot of people pushing normal physics away, like when they open that heavy door, but we can still argue it was the works of Nen even though they weren't aware of it, as it's not like we seen any super-human strengths in people restricted to Zetsu state (best example would be how Kurapika capture Uwogin with normal chains, since he was forced into Zetsu state). Regarding the fight, they would either need to wait and train Cameleon into holding his breath for 15 minutes (which is totally possible, without any nen ability, human record is 24 minutes and 37 seconds, and Chameleons, like many other reptile, can hold their breath for longer then humans), which I honestly think it would take around 1 week and a pure oxygen tank; use Knov in combination with Knuckle, since we saw how not only the people touching Cameleon but also their nen abilities goes incognito, it means that they can stay for almost 2 minutes, use Knov portals without being detected, then go back and repeat. They could also use a nen-user who can steal and give abilities like Leon and Kurapika, and give the ability to someone who can hold their breath for 15 minutes. So yeah, the reason why Nen is fascinating is that, raw strenght-points is not enough to determine the outcome of a fight. 2-3 individuals combined, that together are worth less then a nail to Meruem, can honestly take him down.

I just had a random thought... What if you had a nen user groop with interdependent abilities? That restriction could make your groop way stronger because you can only use the ability together. Maybe a set of triplets that also restric themselves to only be able to use that one set af abilities. We need that to get introduced!

In the anime I was under the impression that pouf states that after consuming all of his and toupi's aura meruem became even stronger than before, so I extimated that meruem had around twice as much aura as a royal guard. He is definitively more than twice as strong as them but since he is barely relying on nen he doesn't need to have a huge pool of aura to be several times stronger than his guards

It's very unlikely he just keeps getting a linear boost by continuously rotating forever. It probably boosts linearly to a certain point and then each spin after that it continues to give you less and less and less with "infinite spins" hitting some arbitrary limit. It could be very high though maybe 100x power boost if he did it long enough ? Diminishing returns would be a thing though.. I feel anyway. Headcannon is what it is for all of us lol. Limitless aura/power doesn't seem possible to me given the nen power system. Not for something as simple as a windup.

Still not sure why you think Phinks wouldnt run out of Aura before ripper cyclotron got strong enough. Gon put all his aura into one attack and it wasn't enough to defeat Razor. Netero put all his aura into one attack and it wasnt enough to defeat Meruem.

Otherwise, what's the point of even having conditions, any enhancer would just want the easiest way to hit the opponent with the maximum amount of aura. In Phinks case, time spent increases power, so give him a day and maybe he can do something.

He puts aura into his fist each time he rotates his arm (we know for sure because we see it glowing after a few rotations), and eventually his fist will have 100% of his aura capacity inside it. By that point, it still won't hold a candle to what would be needed to beat Meruem.

I 100% disagree with you on meruem having 7 million nen aura points. IMPOSSIBLE even!!! What we understood from hxh is that chimera ants in general have more aura and better nen talent than humans. IN GENERAL. so the royal guards are the absolute PEAK of chimera ants. And the king surpasses even THEM. but it makes absolutely ZERO sense that the king is 10 times stronger. In fact id say that meruem is as powerful as 5 pitou/youpi royal guards at the same time. As powerful doesn't mean as much aura, it means that if there were 5 royal guards as strong as these two, then and only then they'd be able to give meruem an equal fight.. But again, as powerful doesn't mean a much aura. So imo with only logic backing me up, no way meruem has 7 million points. Because when youpi and pouf gave their nen aura to meruem. He was fully healed and a lot stronger. Which means that both of them had enough aura to make him even better than he was before. Butttt that's also not confirmed. So the last conclusion i have is meruem has 1.5 million nen points or a MAXIMUM or 2 million points. No WAY its over that. It doesn't make sense. MAYBE post death his capacity became over it, like 2.5 or 3 mil, but before? No way.

I'd say his best bet would be either Mereum agreeing to the power without knowing its utility (doubt) or using some power like Knov or Goreinu to land one hit and then move Knuckle to a completely different place in the world to let the attack do its job. If it's a situation where Mereum wants to fight, Knuckle only wins if Mereum allows it.

There is also the possibility that - since Meruem will notice APR and that it accumulates some value - he will experiment a bit, like moving away quickly (and out of range of invisible Knuckle), thus stopping APR. Two minutes seem more than plenty enough time for Meruem to figure out what's going on and just blast the area around him to bits (which kills the Knuckle).

Honestly, this estimate of Meruem's power just makes Gon's rage even more insane. Pitou estimated Gon to be comparable to Meruem after he transformed. And, if I'm not mistaken, that form was Gon sacrificing his future potential just to kill Pitou which means that, at his "full potential", it would take roughly 16 minutes to bankrupt him under normal circumstances.

I mean, the obvious anwser is to make it into a game that can comfortably last a longer period of time. Meruem is clearly willing to follow the rules of a game, and doesn't seem to just kill opponents halfway through a game, as simply killing the opponent would be admitting he can't win the game. And his pride doesn't allow for that. So Knuckle + Komugi could bankrupt Meruem relativly easily if they challenge him in the right way. A simple "Hey meruem, I bet you can't beat Komugi before Hakoware bankrupts you" is really all it takes. Meruem's pride wouldn't allow him to deny such a challenge, and Komugi played against him for literal days. However, that leaves one major question. To what extend does Meruem actually become vulnerable without nen?
