I agree! Now if they can only make a version of the mini sailor with a larger frame and this plier head.

Max, just to let you know Leatherman P2 and P4 hasn't been discontinued according to Leatherman directly. They are now focusing on the Arc and selling these largely on Amazon. No longer will these have the 40 year warranty if you are part of the Leatherman Rewards program.

@maxlvledc @hvacbudget8600 Just ordered mine. This new W2 combined with Roxon KS2 Elite covers a TON of ground with very little overlap. For $75 or so, better than a Ranger (no wrench, no pliers, no bit kit) or a Rebar (no scissors, no wrench, bit kit extra) in that price range.

*WHAT*A*GREAT*COMBO!!! Just trying to decide if I can trust Aliexpress or wait until it hits Amazon for $50. But mark my words, many of us have looked for the lightweight pliers/wrench/hexdriver/blade combo. This kind of design creativity will be very disruptive to sleeping giants who are way too content with past success.

Great combination. They have that larger one (usually in black finish) that combines pliers and wrench but this is a sweet EDC size.

I’ve been searching for the perfect multitool for me for a few years. This is cool, but not quite there for my purposes. I like a good pair of scissors. So far my best EDC multitool is the Roxon KS2E. Companies need to start making multitools that are actually well designed and usable.

Man, I got the W1 and cannot wait for the W2. This thing is so thin it disappears in the 5th pocket. It would pair great with a Vic Ranger or Roxon KS2 Elite for EDC. Put the bits, adapters and ratchets in an Altoids tin or chums wallet. BTW, the W1 flat head fits the Leatherman bit adapter.

Many wrench pliers combos have been not very good in the past I'm really interested with this one. I wish they do a better tool but the design is on the right side of things. The tool set is one of the bests here. A competent wrench, nice pliers, bit driver, file and knife. A great work multitool.

@@hvacbudget8600 This is is the main reason I'm advocating for pro oriented multitools. This doesn't mean the others have to cease to exist however the thing is most people in the HVAC or any job would like to get a smaller toolbox. And so far multitools are the solution for this. And there is gaps to be filled. These gaps are in my opinion, safe work with electricity, plumbing, proper wood working, etc ... If major brands thinks about the pros and hobbyists rather than just survival, camping and the military that should be the best. Because actually the market is quite saturated with those however the pro stuff isn't. Also the one which is quite there is the gardening but it's not saturated like the camping stuff...

Do you think there's a thin enough 1/4" bit driver somewhere that could replace that locking phillips potentially? The wave+ bit driver is pretty thin but not sure how deep

Got one. Perfect companion for one of the smaller Victorinox for extremely light EDC. HOWEVER. The pliers were hard as hell at first, I needed to FORCE them open with another tool and close them many times before it became "acceptable" and I could open it without a 3rd party tool. This is not OK. There should be some locking mecanism to allow for easy opening of the pliers. I understand it's no Leatherman, but still... don't expect any functionality out if it until you "season" it
@hvacbudget86005 ай бұрын
Wow. Some must have gotten machined to tight. Mine didn't have that issue but you're not the only one that has mentioned that issue. You might want to reach out to Nextool about that.

@@hvacbudget8600 posting the thing back to China would probably cost me more hten purchasing another one.... but it felt weird to have to force the tool into compliance. They can probably do a bit more QA. Also, yours seemed to have a spring or some mecanism opening the plier... nothing such here. Even though it's less brutal now, I still need to use both hands to open it
@meptalon5 ай бұрын
@@hvacbudget8600 I think I found what caused this... I had managed to losen it, but thought "oh well, a little bit of WD40 won't do any bad"... after a few sprays, got a TON of rust leaking out for a while. Redid that a few times, and now it opens smootly like yours and even has this kind of "spring mechanism" I was talking about. Mind you it was brand new, but for some reason, the two parts of the plier, or what holds them together was rusted. I can now even open it with one hand if I want to. WD40 power :)

I like it. I have mostly just used the wrench. The wrench works better on larger bolts than smaller like 5/16ths bolts but it still works. A small 4" wrench still seems to be more precise than this tool but it works. Everything else works OK so far.
