Cutting a 2nd round pick in year 2 who was great if not elite the last 5 games of the season last year is absolutely insane. Especially considering I’m saying this as someone who has suffered through every bears snap this year, i can say Stevenson is one of 3 defensive players who has made multiple huge plays this season. He struggles in coverage because they’ve mostly played weak zone when his strength is man to man. Not to mention he’s consistently attacked because opposing qbs simply do not throw the ball towards Jaylon Johnson that often. He made a bad play … but that situation should’ve never played out and it happened the way it did for more than a few reasons. he took responsibility and He was benched for it. His teammates have accepted him back.. If i remember correctly Rodney Harrison was a hothead when he played too. Great player who got to grow up in a strong locker room. So maybe practice some empathy for an overall tough situation. It’s not fair to put this season all on Stevenson as if cutting him would’ve won them anymore games, in fact id argue that’s just outright dumb. Stevenson needs to grow up but honestly the Bears need a player like him with some fire, on a team that hasn’t shown it at all this year anywhere else. He’s similar to CJ Gardner Johnson. He made a mistake. Let’s see what happens when we get a coach worth respecting in the building… but you don’t cut 2nd round picks in year 2. Especially considering the bears don’t have anyone better to replace him nor do they have a locker room were kicking him off the team would’ve had any positive impact

The Bears are a mess currently but that's not cuz of talent. Its prob the most attractive place to go to for a HC prospect. They get the right guy at the helm the Bears will be far better right away
@abelincoln678511 сағат бұрын
But the Bears cannot figure out what the guy looks like. They always hire the same type. Lets see if they do it again. Bears coaching formula is this - new unproven coordinator guy preferred but will take washed up grandpa like John Fox - they come cheap and are undemanding. They also have to be good at saying nothing that will disparage the franchise. They have to be a wholehearted supporter of DEI - hire a woman or two. They have to be married with a family. They must never swear. They should be Catholic if possible and a God fearing person at least. They have to agree to a short term contract. Virginia must see some inkling of a nice little boy in them - so they can escort her to church. Finally and I will say this again, the coach has to come cheap. Cheap and meek. By that definition Flores is out - too controversial. Mike Vrable is out - he can be outspoken and demanding, Carrol is too expensive and old, meaning uncontrollable. Same with McCarthy. Shanahan would never qualify - again too expensive. That leads to only one sure candidate - the lions coach - not the OC but the DC - Glenn. You heard it here first. Johnson will return to the Lions of go to Jacksonville or one of the NY teams for the money.

“You’re quarterback is only as good as your offensive line. If your QB play sucks it’s mostly because of the o line.” Remember your own words next time you call other QBs crap when their offensive lines suck. These media folks know they say stuff without remember basics like he just admitted yet trash players all the time. Sickening.

Florio speaks in non specifics all the time. Hey Mike - explain to me how Manning won a SB with Denver behind a terrible line, explain to me how Burrow succeeded in getting to the conf championship when leading the lead in sacks taken. What a lazy media schmuk.

Bears have completely fallen apart? Just now? 😂 that franchise has been apart for decades. It’s a joke of a franchise. HC doesn’t matter. GM doesn’t matter. QB doesn’t matter. Its ownership. Until that changes, they’ll continue to be a joke.

Take it easy with Rodney. The fact that he's made it this far with the way he used to hit is a miracle. People also forget that he's a Chicago guy so he has some emotions about how much the Bears suck.

McCarthy is not under contract and may want out of Jerry's insane world. McCarthy won in the Bear's division and is an offensive coach with good record with Cowboys and Packers. He also worked several years with Aaron Rogers. He also has a Super Bowl ring.

Why of why would Ben want to go to Chicago ever they are dumpster fire they don't have 1 problem they have 15 problems. Ben can get a HC job with a much better team if he waits get a SB ring or 2 before he cashs in he's young.

He is the #1 pick. he is supposed to be a generational talent yet him holding the ball for a year and a half, it's because the Oline needs to be #1 in the league, lol. Explain the misse3s on wide open receivers? Explain the need for him to always want to throw down the field late in games, when he needs a few yards?
@abelincoln678512 сағат бұрын
Saw the passing chart. 8 of 9 behind the line, one of 7 over 15 years. Before the last drive he had one pass over 6 yards. He is exactly what the college tape showed. Flashy on the run, flawed the rest of the time - but hey - he had all the good press. What a clown. Get me a 6th rounder that can't run like BRADY.

At this point they definitely bear some of the responsibility. They gotta take ownership of the performance out there on the field. Train more, research more, do something cause they look like they are quitting out there.

Caleb is not the future of this franchise. He's not the only problem either. Ownership is directly at fault for the constant cycle of failure. Fans need to make a statement by not going to games and not buying merchandise.
