Don't trade soderstrom. Soderstrom, Hamilton, hedman, zadorov is a nasty top 4. If you want appelby, maybe try and trade schmaltz and kapanen because they're 2 way forwards, and in free agency sign a center playmaker for the 2nd line

I think trade both of your firsts, a decent prospect and kapanen for applebey. Kapanen is a two way forward and I don’t think he will grow enough to be that top 6 forward you want for your future dynasty. Plus applebey looks like the real deal and a future 60 goal scorer and would be magic with Zion

Before you trade to move up to draft a certain player! Pay attention to the player info. Scroll all the way down and look at their scheme fit. Check if their scheme fit matches or is close to your coach's top 6 line schemes.

Looking to pick up a LW is risky when Zion is also a LW. Maybe try to deal kasperi and the two 1st. Maybe even be able to fill a top 6 with a free agent, and have appleby 3rd line if anything.

I’m pretty sure that one of your first round picks is almost enough trade value for appleby, you could package that with something that has way less trade value than soderstrom like Michael raffl or something

If there’s any chance that you move up in the draft, make sure you look at the players scheme fit compared to your coach’s preference, and compared to Zion’s... you have no chance at a +5, or sometimes even a +3 if the player doesn’t have a scheme fit that the coach also has. I would look for someone very similar to zion if you want them on the same line. Same goes for a DFD if you want to eventually pair them with Hedman

Moving into the top three is usually hard, going to have to overpay to make it happen. Maybe Soderstrom, Bellows, and your first. You still might need to add honestly. Hopefully Parayko slips into FA. I believe he was on his last year of his current contract.

A player i would trade for would be Henri Jokiharju. Hes a great young right shot two way defenseman who is always a go to for me in franchise mode. I would also maybe trade someone like Garland who is currently pretty high in value due to his 86 OVR for a better RW. Loving the series so far by the way!

I don’t think you should trade for the 3rd overall pick... San Jose is a rebuilder and they can get 2 elite players. I don’t think they would trade those 2 picks anyway. Just my opinion but let’s go Ice Eagles!

You could move up in the top 3 by trading both your 1st rounders and if it doesn’t go through you can add a B prospect or like an extra 2nd or 3rd, getting an Elite player is ALWAYS the move in the draft because top 5 players can have an immediate impact on the team while your 16-17th picks will give you top 6 guys that can only be in the league 3 years Later and will only get past 88 if you overuse them, while the elite player can become 92+ very easily and have a HUGE impact on the team

Pull the trigger, package the higher of the two first round picks and either Garland or Sanford (he probs wont work since ufa) and our 2nd, then trade the other first round pick to get back into rounds 2 and 3? As evidence from this year weak division probably will make playoffs next year also. Build the NHL roster, so much for the plan 🤷‍♂️ Go Ice Eagles 🦅

When you look at the fact that you barley got into the playoffs and were versing a powerhouse vancouver team with a STUD goalie and you made it a series after going down 3-0 and coming back 3-2 and in every game was relatively close you have a core with a lit of poteintial

I don’t know if it’s worth it to move up, you will lose a player that will likely play on your second d pairing next year in soderstrom all to get a lw sniper that either won’t play on the first line or won’t get a plus 5 with burrtuzi because they’re both lw and one will be playing on their off side. If u can do this deal without giving up soderstrom go for it but I wouldn’t do it otherwise.

Packaging your 1sts and Soderstrom for 3rd overall is not a good idea. I honestly don’t see Zane Appleby being a good fit for your team on top of the fact that since he’s a left wing, you wouldn’t be able to provide appropriate playing time for him since he’d have Zion Bertuzzi to compete with. I think it’s best to just stay the course, develop Soderstrom, and pick two players in the later half of the first round that could really help your team out in the future.

Make sure you keep any eye on how players fit on each line when trying to get a +3 or +5. You traded Kessel to try and get a +5 but Zion has been the one who doesn't fit 1st line chemistry. Find a new coach that loves our top guys and start building around them first.

Xtech I don’t think you’re going to be able to trade for Zane Appleby. For one there’s a chance he gets taken earlier than his projection, and also I don’t think San Jose would be willing to trade away that pick. I’m assuming they’re listed as a “seller,” meaning they wouldn’t want to trade away any picks. You would have to overpay a ton for the pick, and San Jose is in your division. It’s just not worth it in my opinion.

DO NOT TRADE SODERSTROM!!!! He's so young and could be such a good d-man in 2 yrs. Trade both your 1st for this year because it looks like a weaker draft, and if you still need avalue add in a 2nd next yr, and if you still need value go to the last draft possible and take that 2nd (you'll be a great team by then). Now you have a young core of Bertuzzi, Hedman, and soderstrom along with some prttey good prospects.
