Much love for the Vancouver players at 9:00, who instead of jumping into the fight, threw themselves over their downed teammate to protect him from the fight breaking out. Super dangerous, cleats could have cut him, been kicked in the head, etc and his team mates immediately protected him. Just awesome, and great awareness by them.

After doing my first aid, I am very surprised how a lot of these hits are handled. Like we are taught if there is any risk of head or spine injury to put the head in a brace position and tell the person not to move but most of these, they get the player right up or at the very least, don't brace him.....

The Paul Kariya situation is one of the most spin-tingling story lines in NHL history. Paul Kariya got absolutely murdered by Scott Stevens, and was knocked out cold. He then came back the same game and got the Ducks a 4-1 lead with an absolute laser beam of a slapper top shelf past the GOAT Marty Brodeur. It is chilling. Brings a tear to my eye every time.

VPxndxs that’s exactly what I said!! At 9:38 his teammate basically kicks him in the head(unintentionally) he’s so worried about getting into the fight action!!

Because the trainers will already be on their way and they are far more capable than the players are at taking care of them. They'd rather deal with the asshole that did it in the first place as that'ss more their area of expertise.

Trainers are almost immediately there on the ice. There's not much a teammate can do to a player who's out cold or anything, so they'd rather go about helping in a way they're better for for

That hit on Horton by Rome is a textbook example of fencing response--that concussion was immediate. His name's actually listed on the wikipedia article for notable examples of it. 😬

9:34 Are they stupid like ard I get it, your teammate just got knocked out by another player, but if your so worried for his safety and getting revenge at least watch his head. Too many players went by in anger and kept hitting his head, if he had a spinal injury they could've really injured him worst. His health should've been their top priority. I'm glad some of them had the sense to protect him.
