Unfortunately i don't think it is incredibly tolerated!! There's more people coming out saying it irritates them myself being one of them and a friend with Rosacea being another not even at 2 percent. It's very frustrating as i would like to be able to use it personally.

I'm using a 5% niacinamide serum for last 1 month and it seems to be irritating my skin too! Although I'm not fully sure if it's exactly due to the serum, I've been getting small bumps and pimples a while after I started using niacinamide. Thankfully it's not very bad yet, my skin is still somewhat clear, still can't help worrying -_-

I tried a Niacinamide (4%) with Vitamin C (1%) serum on my 81 year old face and it sort of burned my face: bright red, stinging like mad and itchy. I really don't know anyone I can ask about skincare but really couldn't bring myself to use the serum any more. Resorted to La Roche Posay and some marvellous SOS moisturiser from Caudalie - thank goodness for them.

@stevens716
@stevens716 2 жыл бұрын
@@ericmaharjan5839 Niacinamide does not cause purging. Niacinamide does not increase cellular turnover meaning it doesn’t speed up how fast old skin cells shed, therefore it doesn’t bring up underlying acne from within the skin.

Any ingredients can create irritation or allergies to anyone. Maybe your skin can't stand it. I have sensitive skin and get this reaction from many ingredients that seems ok like Urea or even low level of glycolic acid, vit C and the list goes on so I have just learned to use other ingredients that do the same thing. Thankfully for me my skin love niacinamide. You should try products with glycomactone/pitera used a lot in korean/japanese skincare like sk2 but there are cheaper options as well like secret key...I find that it works the same as niacinamide to me.

Dr. Sam, could you look into natural sources of niacinamide or vitamin b3? I'm someone who gets acne when I use products with niacinamide. I also had a coworker tell me that taking pure niacin internally was very aggravating and I wondered if the ingredient is too strong. I don't know if that correlates or not. I enjoy your videos and expertise. XO

It stings my eyelids, so I wish it’d be left out of cleansers. Also, it’s included in so many products now, I find it essential to check ingredients in everything I use, so I’m not repetitively using it way too much, certainly leading to irritation.

I got really irritated using the ordinary 10% niacinamide. Maybe because i used it on top of lactic acid 5%, or maybe because i used too much. I got itchy, dry, red skin, and small bumps and pimples.

I use 10% Niacinamide in serum and 5% in moisturizer. I know that way too much and can cause irritation but actually it helps me a lot to reduce the redness and inflamation because of purging when I used retinol.
