I’m glad to see minimalist videos are still being produced. All the people I used to watch seem to have gone away. 😢

I lived in India for a short time. One day I realised that I didn't miss all my stuff I stil had at home. I really couldn't care less if it all burned down. I had all I needed with me. Such a profound Aha-expericence. And for your video... Great as always!

i not only did swanton bomb the subscribe button, but also twist of fated the like button. I was really interested and still am in the concept of minimalism and frugalism but for like 1-2 years, i have stopped actively working on myself to achieve my goal of becoming a minimalist. This and many of your other videos have motivated me to get back into that direction. Thank you!

"Would I buy it again" is a huge tool. I move every year so that has been my decluttering point. If I got rid of the stuff now, would I rebuy it in my new place?
@BenEdwards9847 ай бұрын
Thanks for this. These pointers are really useful! For me, having too much generally makes me irritable, especially when stuff is not getting used or is getting in the way - I'll definitely use your tip on resistance items, as I've noticed they always pointlessly return to the same place and remain unused. Here's hoping I can lighten the load some more! Thanks again 😊

My backpack is for quite a time now something like my storage for cards, ear buds, power bank, disinfectant so that I have only to grab my phone and I'm ready to go. Also have the alternative to start my pc via phone and control it if I need some specific documents, scan on the go. Summer and winter I add some items like a towel that is perfect for cooling, a hand fan and for winter I have some USB pocket warmer. Its important not to pack much as possible because traveling with light stuff is always better and if I decide to buy something I have the space for it
@NicholasGarofola7 ай бұрын

Can't agree more! When the time comes, I will be able to pack all my stuff in a 23L backpack and a crew luggage to traver anywhere I want. It's so freeing to know that I don't have clothing and stuff that I don't need/use.

The cat poke haha ❤ I’ve always dealt with a certain problem in decluttering.. when I sell or give away something because I know I don’t use it/need that item.. I would happen to “need” it again at a certain time then I would have to buy again… it’s making me think I shouldn’t have sold it. 😅

In the past few weeks my husband and I have twice had to prepare to go to the basement because of tornadoes. Luckily we had some warning and in that time grabbed our respective backpacks and gathered items we individually deemed important and when it came down to it, it wasn’t that much.

Great video. I do have a lot of packs but the one I gravitated to - if I had to get up and go, not in a prepper context - would be the Bugatti bag I bought from Costco. The laptop sleeve is 17” so I can’t complain, and there is also sleeve for a tablet. It’s called “ Bugatti Hybrid 2-in-1 Duffle Bag/Backpack.” Despite the name sake: for affordability? It’s relatively mid, for price. From Costco Canada, could be available in Costco US too.

Okay, I had to stop the video and watch "Jeff Hardy’s wildest Swanton Bombs" Oh My! On another note: The question "would I buy it again?" is my go-to question. Most of the time it's a strongly answered NO. Happy to see Kitty and that she's first in line for the GoBag! I often play the game "what would I grab if I had 30 seconds?" (rearranging/paraphrasing great R.D. line from Heat). Thanks Nick, always enjoy hearing your thoughts on living a meaningful life.

TLDR: The video lists 5 methods for decluttering your life: Utilize apps: Sell unwanted items through apps like OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, or Poshmark. Reorganize: This helps you identify unused items and keeps everything in order. Declutter resistance items: Get rid of items that you have to move out of the way to get to other things. Would I buy it again: Ask yourself this question when you are on the fence about decluttering an item. The single bag method: Imagine you can only grab one bag of your most important things. What would you put in it? This helps you to detach from unnecessary items.
