When I especially hear these songs from the beginning 2000s I have so often tears in my eyes. These songs bring me back the time when my sons had been lil kiddoes. We had - even there had been a war of roses thx to my ex - so much fun. As we had just every 2nd weekend - we used this time as quality time. And you just can't have enough quality time. So we really tried to extend to the last second. And those last seconds you try to keep so tight in your hands. You want to grab them, that they don't become past. A past of more than 20 years now. Kiddoes became men. And one with his partner and girlfriend (step)father - me with meanwhile 58 years am grandfather living in a whole other corner of the world in Galicia now. Making myself with life, work, pilgriming and else the best time of my life. But with the memories remaining - I still try to steal those last seconds standing at the backdoor of time. Or just having a look at those happy last seconds before the tears - Because when the day one day is coming. I will step into these seconds of quality again. The mistake I made is trying over 2 decades to hold those moments. Better is to move on making new moments. After my last seconds in life I will be glad to be welcomed again in the Nexus of time to go swimming again in eternity. But this is another story to come. Love my kiddoes still, even we almost have no contact anymore. Thx to the ex who always selfishly intervened .... And without all those experiences I wouldn't be the person that I am today .....

I lost a dear friend in 2020, not due to COVID, and we're finally going to get closer this month. We both listened to Nickelback along with other bands but this song really reminds me of both of us being in our teens and twenties. I really miss him even though we were not as close of friends near the end of his life that I didn't know was coming but still. Rest in Peace my friend, may you be with your parents, thank you for introducing me to more music like this, and may you always have a full tank of gas for your 3000GT to go way too fast.

Hate em or love em, the older you get the more you can't deny that they wrote some catchy songs. These guys and a group of bands came thru in the OEF/OIF times and it meshed well with the crowds, some capitalizing on it. I got tired of hearing them everywhere on the radios back then, but now here I am looking them up on KZbin showing the younger folks.

Totally understand. I'm 47 now and my Dad died when I was 21. My Mother is still alive and healthy but when he died she sold my childhood home because it was too big for her to be in alone and the memories. I still drive by it a few times a year and when no one is living in it I get out and walk around the area. I probably look like a burglar but don't care. Someone called the police on me once when I did that and when the cop arrived I was crying like a little bitch. He asked me what was wrong and I told him that it was where I grew up. He understood and left me alone.

People just want to be in the bandwagon of hating Nickel Back without any reason. They are a good band. They have good songs. Their songs dont sound the same. No one hated them in 2000s (if it was about the songs, people would have hated them in 2000s too). they are part of my childhood. I love them. It's just a social media trend.

It didn't have much to do with their songs as much as it had to do with the lead singer, Chad Kroeger. He is a typical frat boy kinda guy and is kinda an asshole. Most people started making a meme on the band purely due to this fact and everyone blindly started thinking that hating nickel back was just funny. But, if you compare this band to the modern crap that's put out, nickel back actually have very decent songs

@@aaryan6138 oh no, not denying that at all lol. They were very generic radio music. But I wouldn't say it is terrible, but it is rather bland and boring for the most part. Also, most of their songs were just mysogynistic. But rather I'd listen to this over the modern bs music being made.

@@mukundpadmanabhan1930 yea I totally agree and I'm not trying to disagree with you it's just that every time I listen to one of their songs I probably cringe a lot but the music ain't that bad it's like acoustic and AC/DC

I love these guys, and always loved this song especially in my middle school days. So much nostalgia for the fun times i had with friends back then. That was over 15 years ago.
