I remember reading a recent interview from Cage that he would’ve approached his Superman similar to his performance in City of Angels (1998) where he plays as a guardian angel who ties to help and look out for the lost and confused individual people in the world. That’s Superman. And after hearing that, I had to see the movie and after watching I think it’s a SHAME Nic Cage didn’t get to play as Superman because I feel he would’ve genuinely been a good yet different version of this icon.

Tim Burton is great at casting his films. I believe in what Burton Visioned for Cage back in 1998. Cage just one the Oscar and the public saw Reeves as the ultimate Superman as he is. Burton knew he had to create an entire new thing for Superman.

Nicolas Cage is a great actor and he’s clearly passionate or was about playing the superman role. But it never happened because it was never meant to be because nobody in my eyes can play the role as good as Christopher Reeves. George Reeves was good as well but sadly was plagued with problems off screen which led to his death in unforeseen circumstances. Henry Cavil plays a good superman but again it’s different and never will be like it was when Christopher Reeves played the part. Although, I could never imagine anybody else acting as Ghost Rider or Gone in 60 Seconds like Nicolas Cage.

As much as I love Nicholas Cage, this was one of the worst ideas Hollywood ever had. The producer that owned the property at the time is a typical Hollywood sleeve bag name Jon Peters. Kevin Smith tells the greatest story about how this guy was going to destroy the franchise with his take on it! After seeing the “Superman Lives”sequence in The Flash movie, I maintain my stance. Nicholas Cage looks as much like Superman as Eddie Murphy.
