Did yall know that during the filming/rehearsal of the movie she had cracked/broken a rib during the scene where she falls from the trapeze and that the corsets her character wore aggravated the injury... the part where she hits that high note on "and forgive everything" and she looses her breath, that was her actual pain.

How would we know? We only know Kidman's Satine. Same as with someone else as Indiana Jones. We can't even begin to imagine someone else when the actor's job is nothing but to own the role they're impersonating. Maybe Hudson would have been great, maybe Heath Ledger would have been an amazing Christian. They didn't get the role - so they're not. *shrugs* That's, well... Showbusiness. That said - there are a few movies where I could see many people in the role that they play, so it's not always something - I hate that word but it fits here - iconic as Indiana Jones or Wolverine, for example. If an actor does their job well and the role is written just right - that's when you find true embodiment or a character. I'm just happy Kidman and McGregor work so damn well together.
