Starting a sentence with “I was up all night with a lovely woman” and ending it with “talking about horoscopes, personal traumas, and brewing kombucha” is the most sapphic thing I’ve ever heard, well done 😂

That's the joy of living in remote areas like this. You can listen to your breath and all the little cracks and drips in the forest. I grew up in small town BC but am in Houston TX now, so I miss silence.

For a couple years after my last deployment I lived with a couple lesbians and a couple...drag queens? Female impersonators ? 2 gay bottoms who performed as women. I was told that lesbian dating always involves a u haul? I miss those days. The kindness extended to me a straight older man ( 33 they were all in their 20s I think. Hard to gage. The "mother " may have been my age or older. I still cherish the memories of those beautiful people getting ready for a night out and the 15 or so ( probably less. There was a rotation along the fridge and a core of 6-10) I was broken in mind and spirit from the horror of what man is capable of and the tremendous Guilt of survival not just among my Devil Dog brethren. But my wife passed from cancer months before I got home so I was completely unprepared to care for my miracle of a Daughter. 8 at the time. These "women" would all gather around the largest bathroom and prepare. The absolute wonder and joy my daughter had watching and participating when opinions were needed and she got to dress up with them and they taught her how to do makeup and were there for her a couple years later when she had her first menstruation. I was as far from their world as anyone could be. I worked with Freedom ( African American gay bottom and performer.) I was looking for a place off base and after some customers were...impolite She asked me to move in with their Fam😂 she had such flare. Huge house on the hill. They brought me back to life...and I found that a lot of women go to gay bars and that for many the lesbian aspect was fluid. Freedom said it was 50% the girls of the couple weren't really gay. That opinion was a VERY EXPLOSIVE and polarizing one. I never bothered to form an opinion. What I remember is joy and sometimes heartbreak. Kindness and a zest for life I'd never witnessed outside of a village in Africa. I love the channel and wish you every success. I am grateful for the reminder. To all; I hope that you and those you care for are happy, healthy, and safe this new year. Semper Fidelis

I love how you "ask" Bambi, play "aggressive house music" and Bambi's ears seem to be aimed as far from the music as possible without moving her body out of patting range... Nicole hugging a coffee pot is a mood. Having also "lived through" the chill recently... I can relate a bit. But it did make me smile to see her snuggled up to a coffee pot. As someone living on the opposite side of the mountains from the Ocean... and far from any major sources of water, I handle the cold better than the snow. But a winter without snow would seem VERY odd.

I love how well filmed your videos are. The cinematic qualities are really lovely to see after so many made for tiktok types of videos, which are fun and all but lack the qualities that yours have had more and more of recently. You live in an incredible place and you have quite a unique lifestyle. I admire your 'Get up and Get at it' kind of lifestyle. Oh and by the way, your pink nose and rosie cheeks are utterly adorable, since most of us have indoor lives where I live, I don't see that very often and I must say it really suits you. NicoIe, I am a new subscriber, and want to express my appreciation for your channel. This video particularly has a lovely mix of macro and panoramic shots, silence and ASMR of: fire, coffee pot, and even the gentle sifting of snow out of the sky. Not to forget the satisfying thump of an axe into a chopping block. And while I know you have a varied audience, with a lot of endearing and damn funny subtext to your videos, I am mostly here for one reason.... the splitting of wood. The techniques for and, yes, the philosophy, of splitting wood of all kinds. Every block of wood requires it's own careful assessment before the swing of the axe or hatchet. The care you take in honing every blade to a razor sharp edge. (Hmmm... starting to sound a little pervy there, however I am sure you know what I mean). By explanation: I am on the Atlantic Coast of Canada, and was born and grew up on Prince Edward Island. Ah, ferry life. Ice on the strait. Golden light of summers. The fragrance of spruce, pine and maple wood. I spent a significant part of my childhood on my grandparents farm, and learned my wood splitting and sharpening skills from my Grandfather at a VERY young age. I still have the scar between the two forefingers of my left hand where I may my first (and last) chopping mistake at the age of 11. Serious wound. Never felt the cut. People would (wood) travel 2 hours by car to have their blades sharpened by him. His philosophy of "sharp enough" was not the physics of parting the wood, but rather the metaphysical effect of a blade that is so damn sharp the wood flies apart rather than experience the force of the blade itself. Now that is f'ing sharp, 'eh?! 😉 For about 6 years of my adult life, I lived in cabins on the shore of a lake or the ocean, where the only heat source was either a Morso or Jotul Scandinavian wood stove. I have happily split many, many cords of wood. I totally get your passion for this. It's been a while now since my last wood stove, and I miss the wood-splitting, wood-burning life profoundly. Some of the happiest days of my life. So... thank you for this lovely diversion, the artistry and fun of your videos. Forgive the length of this comment. Keep up the great work.
