This is a cool channel. I just graduated from a data analytics coding bootcamp last week. While I didn't build a bond with my cohort (I was a minority and deemed different from everyone else), I learned a ton about code. I recommend bootcamps for sure.

Awesome! Congratulations!! And hang in there, trust me when I say that what you experienced is more common than you think.

@@nicoleyoungtech It is common, and they weren't ready for me lol. But, I kept my eye on the prize and persevered. There was another African American women in the class, but made sure she didn't talk to me/gave me dirty looks because she wanted to date our teacher in the class (a young african american dr). It was just sad the lack of unity and respect all around.

Very beneficial video! I totally agree on the pro and cons. I decided to go the self taught route, it seem to be a lot more relaxed and flexible. I've utilized my self-discipline and corporate structure to prioritize my time for learning in the mornings. Great information, I look forward to the next weeks video!

That's awesome! Once you get a good rhythm down it's much easier to see progress on the self taught route!

I am really enjoying all of your videos! I just started on my coding journey this month. I plan on self teaching for 6 months and then enrolling in a local bootcamp after that. I really want the support of a local community and the interview help. Thank you for all the information. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Hey Nicole! Your video's are awesome! Great insight into the world of coding and seriously helping me narrow some things down. You should make a discord channel! I'm still unsure about self-taught vs boot camp, but only because I'm not the best self motivator. Maybe I'll do a mix of both!
@nicoleyoungtech4 жыл бұрын
Heck yes to a mix a both AND you having enough self awareness to know what will work best for you. Hope things are going well for you!!

8:00: I am currently self-learning python, this has involved watching hours upon hours of youtube videos, making notes, replicating some of the example scripts using Pycharm, in some cases, the scripts haven't worked and I have to do a bit of digging and correction of code to get it to work, which has proven useful, from a learning point.

Do you code from scratch?
@nicoleyoungtech2 жыл бұрын
When I was learning and while I was in bootcamp I did as part of the process but now, not so much. As you code you learn what is necessary to build from scratch and what is better of as a simple copy and paste
