Great explanation and demonstration. I just need to gather motivation to pull the engine. I would be nice to have an MG that doesn’t leave oil drips on the garage floor.

You actually don't need to pull the back plate, to replace the rear main. They actually sell a kit for that. But, yes I'd do it if you have the engine out

@@AlexPlatacis I noticed you didn't install the speedisleeve? Is that a new crank?

@@jerryp2433 the crank was machined .030 out, but the rear main sealing surface was unworn, and had no damage. so I felt that it did not need any further attention. you are correct though, and make a great point. proper inspection should always be done prior to assembly. I cannot cover everything. sorry if it looked like I breezed over that.

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm... So the environmental impact of sending all those vehicles to scrap is not a problem. And that does not even mention the fact that most existing communities dont have the infrastructure to handle the increase in Electrical demand for all these electric cars. I actually plan on installing an LPG kit on this car in a later phase of work. It is cleaner burning, and almost no emissions. I dont see them outlawing BBQs here in Texas anytime soon.
